A Mes rate. Bottle at Ang’s birthday tasting at the craft.
Red amber body with a good off white head. Full on sugar and caramel. Really over the top. Just sweet and corny with a hint of baked beans. Cheap American chocolate character too that does it no favours. Sorry guys, really no liking this one too much.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle (thanks to Beerlando for this one)... Poured deep red with an off-white head. Quite sweet and worty. A slightly oxidized character but was in the threshold of quite enjoyable. I like oxidization a little bit so it didn’t bother me there. Tobacco, tropical fruits, sweet tea tones, floral hops, and the alcohol was well masked for it’s strength.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
25.4 oz bottle. Deep purple brown with splattered beige foam. Nose is dates, bubblegum and bananas Foster with hints of marmalade. Almost full body with fine carb providing a zing as it tails off. Taste is toffee, cherry vanilla, grapefruit and unripe peach. Not as sweet as it smells with hops adding just enough bitter citrus peel.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap, CK. Murky reddish muddy brown with a medium tan head. Grapefruity and resinous hops with a lot of raisins and maltiness in the aroma. Very resiny in the taste, pine, and lacquer. Medium, very sticky body. Warming and pretty tasty, but a bit much after a while.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A: The beer pours a dark amber color with a light haze and a finger of soapy, off-white head.
S: Very, very malty and sweet. Lots of caramel and toffee with a strong milk chocolate note to it as well. There’s just a hint of vanilla along with some mild citrus and pine hop notes.
T: The flavor is quite similar to the aroma. Intensely malty and sweet with tons of caramel and toffee. A light toasted bread note along with milk chocolate and faint citrus (tangerine) hop flavors. Almost no bitterness to speak of.
M: Medium to full bodied with a medium level of carbonation.
O: Tasted good, but a small pour was more than enough for me.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Had this during the 2011 Shenandoah Throwdown. Lightly astringent hops, big malt. Big toast, more hop astringency. Malt, burnt toast. Rather a meh beer.

Bottle shared by zinister at the August 2011 tasting. Dark brown and a bit clear. Nose is malty, a bit chocolate, caramel. Taste is the same with a rich, full body. Lots of chocolate. Alcohol is hidden very well. I like this style when pulled off deliciously like this one.
