Countbeer (4078) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - APR 24, 2014
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium sized brown foamy head on top of a black colored beer. Aromas of oatmeal, raspberries, cherries, roast, horsefeeders, hint of liquorice and a sprinkle of soya. Flavours of red fruit, raspberry, cherries, chocolate, coffee, bitters, coffee, malt roast, light tart and some smooth mixed candy! Aftertaste is a mix of roast, bitters, red fruit, light vinous bitter ish tone and some malt roast with a sweetish edge. Low carbo, creamy silky mouthfeel, full bodied and a silky texture. Very easy drinkable, awesomely balanced, brilliant beer!

@ The Lets do a Chris O tasting. Pours black very thin off white head. Nose of a warm raspberry pie laced with licorice. Taste wise imagine red wine and bacon allowed to reduce down in a stock pot. Excellent. Does not taste like its 11% ,hides the alcohol really well.

On tap at Hunahpus Day. Sweet Aroma. Malty and rich. Raspberries and a nice balanced bitterness that finishes dry. Not quite the most drinkable, but another wonderful stout from CCB.

750 ml bottle shared at Dakís tasting. Thanks! Pours a deep brown with a small tan head that leaves a film and ring. Aroma of chocolate, soy, dark fruits (berries, figs, plums), oak, and earth. Flavor of berries, roasted malts, tobacco, earth, plums, dates, and molasses. The port really does its thing here, and the raspberries show up, too. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a rich, roasty, fruity mouthfeel. Good fruit-infused imperial stout.

Dark brown, practically black in color with a radioactive orange-colored head, this has an aroma of a barrel-aged imperial stout. Notes of bourbon and sweetness greet the nose up front with a slightly fruity, almost tart aroma. Itís very nice. The aroma is mostly of roasted malts, but balanced well with alcohol and make way just enough for all the nice flavors of (insert barrel type used). Itís an alluring and intoxicating aroma. The flavor is twice as impacting as the aroma is. It settles a little sour on the stomach, unfortunately. Itís wet in the mouth and on the palate, fruity, with a roast character thatís slightly omitted form the palate. If anything the one thing prevails in this beer itís the heaviness and sourness on the gut. Itís definitely abnormal up-front. Itís hard to finish, honestly. Iíd prefer this beer be more easy-going. It could easily use another two years of aging before it could be experienced more enjoyably. Itís a little too straight-up, a little too strong and flavorful right now. But still, itís very impacting and very fruity with raspberries very much in the face - so much so that it seems like a tart candy.

Rich darkest brown, slimmest head. Iconoclastically and filthy sweet nose, much raspberry tartness coming through as things open up. Charred meat and dark choc, rabid raspberry. Like picking your way gleefully through a chocholate box where you know every taste is well judged silky sweetness and a succulent juicy centre. Port sweetness burns through on the finish, roast and choc come back with more roasted dark fruit linger - but an 11%íer? Nah. Brilliant.

Bottle, muleíd by CAGarvie for the "Letís Do A Chris O" Chris-O-age, vile style
