Bottled @ CBC 2013. Burgundy coloured. LIght brown head. Aroma: Sweetness, caramel, brown sugar, herbs and spice. Flavour: Caramel, herbs, brown sugar, sweetness, chocolate and fruits. Medium to full bodied. Ends somewhat sugary and burnt. Quite nice.

Sample @ CBC. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are dried fruits, rich malt, caramel, flowers and hops.

Pours dark red color with a small head. Aroma of ripe fruits, caramel malts, some brown sugar, toffee and some licorice. Flavor of sweet ripe fruits, caramel malts, some toffee notes, mild chocolate and licorice. Extremely nice.

Pours dark brown with a foamy brown head. Aroma of sweet syrup, some wood, oak and herbal notes. Taste is malty, tart with notes of ripe fruits, some syrup and wood. Finish is warming and malty. Okay, quite tart scotch ale.

Draught @ CBC2013. Pours a dark brown colour with a red hue. Aroma of sweet caramel, toffee, some sourness and herbs. Flavournof caramel malts, herbs, wood and some tangy licorice notes. Full bodied, slick mouthfeel and a warming, malty, tart-ish finish. Great, especially aroma-wise.

750mL bottle. Poured medium brown with a dense cap of smoked beige head. The aroma picked up a hefty dose of toasted fruits and fruity yeastage.. lots of sweet molasses and honey too.. more than enough sugar to hide the alcohol, but it was a bit muddled. The flavor found wisps of smoked malt over sweet molasses, darker fruits, and a touch of chocolate.. heavier on the oddly-placed Belgian yeast on the back.. sweet, mostly fruity finish. Medium-bodied with a full-ish feel on the palate.. malt-inspired tanginess helped cut through some of the sweetness on the back.. OK feel and flow. This was certainly drinkable, but was too sweet and had some conflicting elements.

Bottle shared at the December tasting in Santa Cruz. Pours brownish red with a firm tan head. Tart and malty, basic caramel/rye interplay. Toffee, mild fruits.

Pours a deep brown with a huge tan head. Dark fruit, whiskey, cherry, vanilla, and oak aromas. Big and boozy. Rich creamy mouthfeel.
