750 ml bottle Matt. Thanks, man! A beer I didnít even know existed. Pours a rich dark brownish pour, dark with some ruby brown edges. A frothy tannish light brown head sits atop, laces well and sticks around as a firm layer. Aromas are touches of fruit, cherries and some toffee. Touches of gentle peat, caramel, and toffee. Toast, toffee, and crisp sweetness. Gentle dry hops. Initial is chocolatey up front, dry with toastiness, some caramel. Much less sweet than the nose let on. Dry and toasty finish, hoppy dryness and toast. Biscuits, bread, toast. Touches of cherries, red fruit, and mellow sweetness creep in, quickly drying out and getting toastu, gentle roast, peat. Some mellow dryness, toffee sweetness, lingering cocoa. Brown malts offer a great difference and good flavor. Wow, quite an interesting exeprience that offers a lot more flavor, balance, and palate experience in the actual beer. Nose was a bit sweet. Looks great. Solid beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750ml Bottle: Got in trade from Biggsbowler; THANKS Randall. Complex, sweet aroma of malt, dark ripe fruit, a hint of alcohol, raisins, plums, some cherry, and some Belgian yeast. Poured dark brown/very dark orange in color with a medium to large-sized, creamy, dense, brown head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Lightly sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Flavor is heavily sweet. Tastes of grape jelly, malt, slight chocolate, slight roasting, slight Belgian yeast, prune, plum, and alcohol. A bit of a peanut-butter and jelly flavor. Medium body. Slightly chalky texture. Soft to average carbonation. Malt, grape jelly, slight alcohol, plum finish is slightly chalky. 9%ABV is noticeable throughout though not hot.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
My Bottom Line:
This puzzling brew shares a mish-mash of sugary and nearly tart flavors, ranging from aniseed, raisins and vinegar, before a charred roastiness rises in the finish.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A healthy head of foam sits atop the dark red.
-Picklish, acidic connotations are perceived in the aroma. This doesnít bode well for this batch...
-The nose and flavor profile has nothing to do with a Scotch Ale. Moreover, the idea of marrying a Saison yeast with tons of caramel malts is just not a good one, for my palate anyway. I taste no harmony whatsoever in here.
-Intense carbonation does nothing to console the tastebuds.
-I donít know if Iíve been unlucky with Cigar City lately, but thatís quite the string of poorly fermented brews Iíve had from them.

Thanks to Dad for this. Good stuff but a slightly burnt flavor came through and the bitterness was a bit off. Otherwise warming fruity malty goodness. Serving: Bottle

Bottle poured into glass. Super dark color for this style, dark brown almost black. Aroma has hints of brown sugar and plum. Little over carbonated frankly. Wasnít the easiest drinking beer but still tasty.
