Clear winner of our horizontal tasting, thanks Tom. Big brown coloured beer. The bourbon is there and dominant, but it was well done.

Pours amber with a light khaki head. Aroma is huge with bourbon. Also has hints of vanilla, oak, cherries and caramel. Flavor is bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, toast, oak and toffee. Bourbon does not come through as much as I thought it would after smelling this beer. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

750 ml bottle from mikeluke23- thanks again! Pours a hazy mahogany color with more amber highlights than the dustier-looking regular Big Sound, and a small beige head. Huge bourbon nose, with vanilla, caramel, oak, sweet cherries, and brown sugar. Flavor of vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, raisins, oak, bourbon, and toast. The aroma is a bit boozier than the flavor, which comes across as much sweeter than the nose lets on. Medium-bodied, with a sweet, smooth mouthfeel and low carbonation. A bit one-dimensional but hey, I like that dimension.

Sampled from bottle. Poured a caramel color with a small tan head. Aroma was smooth, vanilla, with notes of chocolate, toffee, malts. Flavor was smooth woody vanilla, with a touch of perfectly sweet chocolate and malt. After having the base beer and then the extremely disappointing Rum variety, this one was *awesome*.

Pours a murky brownish-amber color with a finger of off-white head. A nice bourbon and vanilla note to it on top of the rich caramel and toffee malt smells. The flavor is quite similar. Heavy bourbon, vanilla, and wood with a strong caramel malt flavor and some brown sugar.

Aroma: Gigantic bourbon. Dark fruit ,caramel. Bourbon soaked oak.

Mouth. Thick, syrupy,warming, coating.

25 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark ruby body with a small fizzy beige head. The nose is big sweet maltiness with a fairly hefty but not overpowering bourbon. Some fairly prominent alcohol vapors, but it kinda works with the huge malt. The flavor is pretty well dominated by the bourbon flavor up front but then the big sweet malt coats the tongue and finally there’s a nice charred wood finish. Full and chewy body with a nice clingy stickiness. Soft light fizzy carbonation. Pretty good beer, but not as easy to drink as the regular version.

Bottle provided by Ed Roberts, you rock my friend. The aroma on this was pretty overwhelming. A lot of bourbon and hotness going on here. It smells a lot stronger then it actually this. The flavor is a mix between bourbon, malts and vanilla. Hangs very long on the palate. Could use some aging but still very good.

Big bourbon nose, rich malts, caramel and toffee, I’m really impressed with how clean the bourbon comes through; no hot alcohol notes. Pours darker than the standard Big Sound, almost opaque, some haze, thin head dissipates quickly. Great mix of rich malts and bourbon flavors; caramel and dark sugars, mixed with a super smooth bourbon profile that goes down without any burn. Full body, low-medium carbonation, smooth, almost creamy mouthfeel. Really liked this beer.

On draft poured a nice dark black color with aromas of bourbon, smoke, caramel, and a touch of cherry. Flavors follow aromas, and had a nice bourbon balance with some sweetness.
