bottle. to bad this was infected i loved the regular big sound. poured redish brown not much carb. arom was decent malty and barrel. sour metalic bourbon flavor bummer

Thanks to ericandersnavy for sharing this bottle. Drank in early December 2011. The beer pours a very dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is heavy on the rum and vanilla, with some dark fruit, chocolate and oak. The flavor is different and is showing signs of infection. There is a ton of tart dark fruit, with some chocolate, smoke, cranberry, vanilla and rum thrown in. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. I wish we could have tried a non-infected version since I bet it would have been pretty tasty.

Big thanks to Adam for this bottle. Shared with friends. Pours a nice brown, with minimal head. Smells like shit, totally infected. Smells liked crushed dreams and hope. Taste is similar, tears of orphans. This was a huge let down.

Bottle from Tom. Aromas of candle wax, spent fire crackers, smoke and smoked apples. Taste is weird, smokey peat, btter, and sour at the same time. Kind of a mess.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2012 Bottle with pat, Dallas, and Tom. Pours a deep brownish black with light off white lacing. Aroma is sweet rum, candy malts, and nuts. Mouthfeel is thin with notes of scotch, sweet rum, sweet malts, and nuts.

Bottle with friends. Pours a dark brown with mocha head. Smell is strangely funky. Taste is very clean, some wood notes. Sort of juicy, fruit flavors mixing in.

Nice dark color with a think beige head. Decent retention. Nutty, caramel aroma, very faint hints of rum. Good mouthfeel. Malty, syrupy, with dark sour cherry flavors

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a light tan head. Nice aroma with notes of rum, a slight sweet note to the nose but could be the rum, and dark fruit. Medium mouthfeel. This does have a slightly sweet dark cherry note to is but it is hard to tell if that is infection or the rum. There is for sure a fruit like note to both the aroma and the taste but otherwise this is really tasty. Somewhat Surly Five"ish" so it really isn’t a scotch ale but its tasty nonetheless.

Bottle pours a dark brown red tint light on the head. Tastes and smells of caramel, alcohol, soy sauce, cough drop, spiced rum, has a tastes of sour cherries. heavy cloying sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, light body, sticky, average carbonation, very wild kind of reminds me of a booze cherry coke, has small amount of smoke in middle pretty sweet pretty good.
