Oct 30, 2009 750ml from Beerman I believe. Pours murky ruby brown with one finger tan head. Aroma is toffee, brown sugar, caramel, sweet malts, booze and some smokeyness. Flavor is sweet malts, toffee, caramel, smokey, some earthiness and some booze. Medium body and decent carbonation. Finishes sweet and smokey. Pretty solid scotch ale.

Oct 28, 2009 Bottle - thanks changeup415. Pours a rich chocolatey brown color with a small, creamy beige head. First sniff gets some breadiness, follwed by a little peat. Maybe a hint of rye? Taste is rich with an earthy and smokey maltiness. Lingering bits of peat and caramel. There is a little sweet before the smokey, ash, and peat thing, but I can’t put my finger on it... Nice mouthful, thick and coating. Finishes a bit dry and smokey.

Oct 26, 2009 Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. The look is brown to red in color with a beige colored head. The smell is malts, sweet, scotch like, alcohol, and good. The taste is sweet, malts, good, and caramel.

Oct 25, 2009 Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours a very dark reddish brown with beige head. Aroma of malt, alcohol, spice, a little peat moss. Flavor is very much the same with some sweetness.. Mouth feel is medium-heavy body with low carbonation. Overall, not bad at all and kinda warming.

Oct 5, 2009 Thanks to FlssmrBrewAlum for sharing this at the Flossmoor Station Oktoberfest. It poured a dark brown body with a bubbly khaki head and laced the glass nicely. It had an aroma of dark stone fruits, toffee, and toasty malts. The flavor was sweet with a touch of treacle added, still fruity, with an underlying roastiness that suggested smoke. For a big ale, this one is dangerously drinkable.

Oct 4, 2009 dark brown pour, tiny tan bubble head, respectably lacy. nose of chocolate, sweet malt and roasty malt. flavor follows the nose with chocoalate with sweet and roasty malt notes. medium bodied, oily mouth feel, mildly bitter, roasty finish. a touch too sweet for my palate and the alcohol is too well hidden. tip of the hat to FlssmrBrewAlum for providing the bottle at flossmoor station’s octoberfest.
