COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big Sound Scotch Ale is dedicated to our good buddy Gino, the most punk rock bagpiper you’ll ever meet, and the rest of the men and women of Tampa Bay Pipes and Drums. Brown in color, Big Sound has huge notes of dark sweet toffee with underlying mild notes of coffee in the aroma. The flavor starts with a slight note of cherry and then opens into a Goliath of a malt character with notes of dark sweet toffee, slight hints of coffee and mild notes of toasted bread in the finish. Big Sound Scotch Ale pairs well with Haggis, Highland Games, Huge Heads and Enormous Pillows and of course Bagpipe music.

Rich scotch-amber with tanned, creme brulee foam head. Musky bouquet of malt and candi malt. Buffeted veins of fruitiness, some prune, caramel, and cherry chocolate. Rich, velvey mouthfeel. Full-bodied. Candi-malt at the front of the palate. A wave of varied caramel malts with some specks of cherry chocolate glides over the taste buds. Top-notch Scotch ale.

PPRBSG. My first Cigar City. Dark brune body with a tan head. Chewy scotch notes light smoke and caramel with some berry sweetness. Chewy smooth caramel with a light peat and chewy fruit. I am not a scotch ale fan but this is fantastic for what it is, or at least i thought so.

750, thanks, Scrizzz! Pours hazy brown with a lacy beige head. Sweet caramel aroma with a hint of smoke. Medium-light body and carbonation. Caramel and toast taste. A bit hoppier on the finish than I like for this style. Probably worth keeping around for a couple of years until the hops drop out.

750, capped. Interesting. Thanks, Scrizzz! Pours an opaque dark brown with rubied highlights in the corners. Dense, creamy tan layer of foam on top. Big black pepper nose, dark bread toast there as well. Creamy medium body. Prickly carb. Long roasty finish. Really nice stuff.

Bottle: Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma brings out sweet toffee with hints of dark chocolate and dried fruit. Roasty malty flavor starts with chocolate cherries and finishes with hints of coffee beans. Finish is chewy and dry that is very flavorable and enjoyable. I didn’t realize I like Scotch Ale’s so much until I tried this one. Well balanced and well done!

Dark, murky brown, nice brown head. Very malty aroma - molasses, honey, toffee and some fruity notes. Very thick, rich palate - The Bride describes it as being as thick as whole milk. Mpale and toffee, some cherry notes up front, maybe touch of prune - very decadent and rich. .I also get some touches of tobbacco and leather as it warms. Excellent stuff.

Bottle: The aroma consists of caramel, chocolate, cherry, coffee, smoke, and wood. It pours a dark orangish-brown with no transparency and a moderate beige head that leaves behind some sporadic webbed lacing. The flavor starts with lots of caramel and chocolate. There some light-moderate cherry in the background. The finish has some light notes of smoke and wood. Full bodied with moderate carbonation and a soft mouthfeel.

My first cigar city. Big thanks to dakine! This beer is pretty awesome. I was hesitant about opening it because of it rarity but I shared with some random friends who liked it very much. I liked it a lot too. Awesome appearance, nose, and flavor. Nicely bslnced, one of the better scotch ales I have sampled.

The aroma is papery with butterscotch, fruitiness, earthiness, wood, and a hint of smoke. The appearance is red brown with a large foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma with an astringent finish. The palate is typical for the style. Overall I don’t care much for this one because of the paper and astringency.
