COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big Sound Scotch Ale is dedicated to our good buddy Gino, the most punk rock bagpiper you’ll ever meet, and the rest of the men and women of Tampa Bay Pipes and Drums. Brown in color, Big Sound has huge notes of dark sweet toffee with underlying mild notes of coffee in the aroma. The flavor starts with a slight note of cherry and then opens into a Goliath of a malt character with notes of dark sweet toffee, slight hints of coffee and mild notes of toasted bread in the finish. Big Sound Scotch Ale pairs well with Haggis, Highland Games, Huge Heads and Enormous Pillows and of course Bagpipe music.

Thanks Tommy! This might be the best scotch ale i’ve ever tried. Aroma is terrific malt, with some caramel, dark fruit and bitter chocolate. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel with bit malt, some coffee, chocolate, and fruitiness. I sure love CCB.

750 ml from beernads. Deep brown with red hues and thick tan head. Nose of dark cherry, fig, nutty toasted malt, and a whisp of peat. Flavor is chocolate covered cherry with toasted malt, raisin, and toffee. Finishes lightly dry and fairly roasted. Prickly carbonation. Heavy palate presence.

Aroma is toffee, malts, fruit and a hint of sweetness. The flavor is fruit/berries, malts, medium to big sweetness and a tart finish. Although it didn’t mention it, this tasted almost like it was barrel aged. Overall a pretty good Scotch Ale.

Old review, drank this on tap a few years ago at beer week and multiple bottles over the last couple years. Poured a dark brown shade with creamy and thick 2 finger head. Really nice lacing patterns on my glass. Aromas of toffee, choc malt, coffee bean, dark fruits, and caramel. Taste was very similiar with some pronounced roasted malt and burnt sugar.

Poured from a 2010 750ml bottle. From a distance I smell peaty Scotch. There is a huge caramel/toffee, hints of roasted malts, grape, fruity notes. A nice rich warming malty beer, great on a cold snowy night.

bottle. The pour is dark. The aroma is mostly cherry and toffee. The taste is big upfront with toffee, wow. A little overpowering if you ask me. Not a typical scoth ale that I have had, a little disappointed.

From a 75 cl bottle shared at Canaan Valley. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of coffee and roasted nuts. Dark sour cherries, raisins, and toffee with a warm, soothing finish. Very nice.

Wow. Bottle gift from SJ. Cinnamon, toast, caramel, cherry and toffee. All blended together with a nice alcohol bite. The brew finished sweet, but not overly.
