3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 mL bottle. Dark brown, bubbly, and a large, tan head. The aroma is big peat notes, burnt oak, toffee, and salt. The flavor is sweet and malty, with a long, sticky and mildly bitter aftertaste. Fairly heavy body, malted and sticky. Overall, this is a good scotch ale, with massive malts and syrupy-sticky mouthfeel.

It is a dark brown with some light that gets through. It has a brown head. The aroma has toffee and coffee with cherries on the second go around. It has flavors of toffee and coffee that are combined. There are bits of cherries in the flavor as well. It is sweet, with a warming alcohol finish.

This beer rocks. Slightly sweet finish plus a unique kick up front makes you know you are drinking a mans beer. A boozy wonderful taste but not all that boozy if that makes any sense.

Tasted from draft. Pours a dark brown with off white head. Sweet aroma with caramel, biscuits and syrup. Taste is moderate to heavily sweet. Dark fruits of raisins and plums, caramel, toffee, maple syrup, figs, biscuits, earthy flavors. Definitely one of the best scotch ales I've had.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle thanks to Homer. Opened last month at a tasting. My awesome notes, completely unedited to fully capture the moment (read: because Iím a lazy git): dark Brpwn, offwhite head. Aroma: caramel and stale hops. Whatever. Wished I liked it more than I do, but thatís what it is. Enough ratings it doesnít matter what I say. Anyway, the numbers: 7/4/7/4/13. 3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Great aroma of sweet fruit and smoke. The taste is excellent. Balances the sweetness of the malt and the stone fruit that comes with it, all washed away by the slight smokiness. Fine example of the style.

"slight cherry my #$%! this was odd in a wat that only a few breweries can pull off. luckily for us, CC is one of them. Kind of a cross between a good, traditional scotch ale with dark fruit and hints of smoke, and Cuvee de Tomme with itís cherry-twang thing going on. the fruitiness was not subtle in the aroma or flavor, as the label would have you beleive, but was quite enjoyable. I am now intrigued by the bourbon version of this brew..."
