Thanks to burg326 for this one. Bottle to pint. Looks decent; very dark with good head and retention. Smells pretty good; licorice and malt are both noticeable. Tastes good; enjoyable, but lighter in mouthfeel like a lager (although still enjoyable). Overall, a good beer that should be made seasonally (in the Fall).

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This poured a medium to darker brown color with a beige head. Aroma was of sweeter chocolate, light roast and some sour cherry notes. Flavor was actually a little bit tart, dark fruits, and sweeter mild chocolate and some roast. A bit muddled and confusing of what this is supposed to be.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
This borders on being a sour. Maybe it is just the bottle I have... but sour is the main flavor I get. Looks nice...smells okay... taste similar to a sour I had recently... think its a bad batch.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle from bleeng.
Pours a deep black with a nose of cardboard malt chocolate. Flavor is just average porter/stout. Average mouthfeel. There’s a reason why some bands are "indie": they suck. This beer is a fitting tribute.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. picked up a bottle of this at ccb during our visit....pours to the extent of a stout blackness. holding it up to the light yields more dark reddish brown shades while being topped with a rather thick creamy light beige head that reduces down to a thinner level... aroma is somewhat oddball with multiple layers it seems. roast and cocoa upfront, tangy dark fruit accents lay underneath, a little anise with a touch of yeastiness as well... flavors exhibit more of the same with mostly chocolate and roast initially
finishes on more of sweet dark fruity tinge with a dry bitterness finishing things up on the backend. nice smooth semi-creamy mouthfeel with a light prickly level of carbonation to round things off.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Interesting beer. Aroma is earthy, leather, chocolate, soy, and clove. Taste is mostly roastyness with an interesting earthy efforvescence. Taste also has some leathery burnt aspects that are strange but still good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle. Aroma had notes of smoke, chocolate, hops, mild roasted malts, licorice. Taste followed the nose well, but it got a little sweet at the end. Thick, almost stickey body. Good balance.
