Cask @ OTH, CCB launch party. A creamy tan head tops the murky brown body. Nutty, caramel and toffee malts, a hint of maple, chocolate roasty notes. Lush and creamy, very drinkable for such a big malty beer.

Thanks Daknole at DLD 09. This beer makes me want to go to FL ( plus others). The pour was dark brown with tan head. The aroma was mils sweetness and some nuttiness. The flavor was great. I like brown ales and this is one of the best that I have had.

Thanks to Dakine for sharing this at DLD ’09. So very very smooth, with some just delicious nutty sweet notes. I never knew that a brown could be this good!

32oz growler that tpd975, shared with Dalekliz and my girlfriend, thanks Greg you rock. This beer second in our series is dedicated to Hurley for the lottery, but also Locke, because Liz thinks it tastes like Locke’s character in a beer. Pours a rich brownish black with a stable half finger tan head. Nose is sweet and chocolaty with lots of character. Taste is sweet chocolaty and damn good with hints of coffee. This gets added to my very very very short list of great brown ales, that go along with the long list of shitty god awful brown ales.

Growler courtesy of kiefdog. Thanks Kevin! Pours a rich dark brown color with a short to medium lived beige head. Smell is chocolate, creamy malt, coffee, and nuts. Taste is creamy malt, light bitter hops, coffee, nuts and almost chocolatey. A rich creamy body for the style, with soft smooth carbonation. Very good overall and really surprised me. Lingering Mild coffee and hop bitterness. Fantastic beer.

Growler with a special thanks to tpd975. Pours a dark stained mahogany color with a thin tan head. Aromas are full and vibrant... nuts, chocolate, roasted malt, maybe a little dark fruit. Flavor is damn good. I didn’t see this coming in spite of the other ratings since most brown ales I’ve had are just not very good. This one drinks more like a porter... and a good one at that. Thick chocolate and fruit flavors mix with a silky mouthfeel and just a kiss of alcoholic warmth. Come on Cigar City... get with the program... Bottle and ship to PA!!!!

Growler. Tan head when aerated on top of thick mahogany brown body. Aroma of fruity chocolate and chocolate-covered melon balls. A very interesting array of flavors to boot--a fruity-malty-chocolate-nut complex.
