Aroma and flavors have a satisfying creamy blend of semisweet chocolate, caramel, mixed nuts and toffee. I thought Double Nut lacked the subtleties of Madura. But I’d easily give it another shot. tennisjoel (941), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 30, 2009 Auburn brown in color. Taste is roast, biscuit, chocolate. Slightly sweeter than the Maduro Brown. I do detect a tinge of artificial flavor; nothing offputting however. Alcohol well hidden. I liked this better than the Maduro. badgerben (3599), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

Big malts in aroma, sweeter like chocolate malt but also a little salty spice. also lots of toasty burnt notes in flavor with chocolate and salted nuts. Very full-bodied and thick for a brown. garmonbozia (229), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 22, 2009 750ml bottle. Aroma at first is a lot of acetone with a tootsie-roll malt profile. The alcohol asserts itself quite prominently after warming. Just a tiny bit of toasted nuts, coffee and charred wood(?) as well. Pours a muddy brown with little head. Flavor is sweet, boozy (esp. for 9%) with a very odd vegetal note. Lots of alcohol. Maybe some roasted nuts and a tiny bit of bitter chocolate. Really not a whole lot going on. Creamy texture with average carbonation. Thanks again Bob! darn1207 (560), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 21, 2009 750mL bottle. dark brown pour with a touch of ruby to it. a finger or so tan head and some sudsy stick. nice sweet nutty aroma with toffee, alcohol and subtle spices. thin to medium oily palate. quite a bit going on in the flavor: the cocoa and sweet earthy malts are backed up by a salty (soy?) bitterness. hints of tobacco and honey too. none of the flavors take over - which is a compliment. not sure they totally work together - which isn’t. overall very interesting though. ajm (925), Los Angeles, California, USA

Nose is chocolate soil, roasty hazelnuts and amaretto, dark coffee. Color is a full brownish black with good brown head. Flavor much the same and comes together very nicely. Like a nuttier version of Pullman that turns out to be sweeter.
