aroma: ^sweet-dark-fruit.
flavor: sweet-nutty-chclt-malt chalky-astringent-brick(minerals maybe) dark-fruit, much different than the aroma.
a decent beer, but it needs a good cigar -almost like it was brewed intentionally to go with one and just doesn’t taste quite right without it. bhensonb (4406), Woodland, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 1, 2010 750 from ericandersnavy. Pours a rather dark ruby with a multi-finger foamy tan head. There’s a lot of chocolate in the aroma. Medium plus body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is chocolate, and I’d say coffee, but maybe that’s nuts. There is one heck of a lot of chocolate flavor and some slighlty oily nuttiness. I can even imagine a touch of sour. And platinum. Like I’m really liking this. It’s malty, but flavorful, and there’s enough bitter to offset the malt. BrotherGrendel (612), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 24, 2009 Pours a dark brown with mostly dissipating head. Nose is mostly roast and nutty malts, a bit subdued. Flavor is smooth rich malts with nuts and roast, faint hints of cocoa and coffee, finishes sweet. Medium body, light carbonation, thick texture. A big thick brown ale with great balance and nut flavors, love this style and profile. mmmbeer (766), Austin, Texas, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Dec 21, 2009 1 massive, Super Obama size, way above the Mt. Everest and below the Mariana Trench- the last bottle from Daknole- thank you sir. I don’t say this alot, but, sincerely, thank you. Served in a trappist glass- poured a nearly black with ruby tints. Heavy aroma of alcohol, toffee, plums, malt, caramel, and pure evil- straight from hell. Hits the mouth with a hard wide heavy body, (this beer is not for the faint of heart, let alone beergayners), the first sip smacks you upon the face for not paying attention to a lightly seasoned malt- some roast to it is apparent in the malt, a 2nd smack upon your face lets you know that it continues well into the middle- a grainy, and very welcome, malt makes itself know, along with nuts (pecan with notes of pistachio, hazelnut, and maple- F$@K. ME. RUNNING.), finish that is full, damn near everlasting, and points a loaded .44. Right between your eyes. Exactly 2cm in between, above, and between your eyes. Don’t fail the beerGAYners on this one- I saved this beer for my BIRTHDAY. The stlye (HUH?!?) at the tyme said- it’s ok, That day came and went. But I said, come some sample some... what they had made them full, full enough after a BAD NIGHT with my Old Lady. That night came came and went. But I still craved more BAD... The beergayners may score it here low, but I score it high. Why? I was nice enough to someone, and HE repayed a favor. Thank you Dakine, thank you. See me in El Paso, biotch (evil mechanical laughter from me to you, a friendly joust between friends). Thank you. By the way- I call this beer a brown ale, but I also call it DAMN GOOD. (From Dakine’s back)- BITCH. You said what, you don;t have need to fight, you also have him. nipple twisting beergayner. I got a story to tell you. But you have me to deal with. 1st. And I’m not such a soft touch.....Dakine- let’s ride man... and it’s on me man. BBB63 (4283), La Porte, Indiana, USA

The aroma has notes of walnuts, chocolate, toffee, earthy yeast, a hint of pepper and ashy wood. A touch of booze is also noted. The taste is malty and nutty with some light twangy chocolate covered dark fruits. The house yeast character is found towards the slightly alcoholic finish. The smooth mouth feel is warming a tad chalky. Overall it is better than the BA version. Nice. Glouglouburp (2897), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 16, 2009 In short: Refried-beans and nutty brown ale on steroids. A weird but not unpleasant mess
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed when about 4 months old.
The look: Mahogany body topped by a medium beige head
In long: Nose of refried beans with some nuts and rubber. Not really an inviting aroma. Body is full, creamy, heavy and very pleasant with a medium carbonation. Fortunately the taste has a little less refried beans than the aroma but it’s still there. Plenty of hazelnuts, milk chocolate, maple syrup, earth, french fries (no kidding!), toffee, leather. tar. The beer also felt very hoppy but I could not really discern the hops character, other than “it feels hoppy”. This beer is a real mess but somehow it is a mess that was so out-there that I finished my 750ml with no problem. Named after a old bidding game with numbered balls that was popular many years ago. 80 years later we now have Bingo and it seems to me like it’s the same people playing.
