The aroma has notes strong notes of malt, chocolate, tobacco, raisins, and some fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate, tobacco, wood, and roasted malt, leading to a dry woody and chocolaty finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. Papsoe (14996), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Bottle thanks to an american couple that shared them in the rake. Alround rating: Roasty, very sweet and nutty, massive bourbon character which makes it even sweetter, theres some ash in here and the alcohol is far from subtle. Not a win. hopscotch (5482), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 26, 2009 Bottle (#195)... This beer rocks!... Pours murky and dark brown with a mid-sized, wispy, khaki head that diminishes to a single-bubble layer of a tight, white crown. Fantastic retention. The aroma is a rich, robust swirl of vanilla, sourmash, coconut and milk chocolate. Full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and modest carbonation. The flavor is very much that of an “old ale” – vanilla, caramel and mild sourmash – rich, luxurious and malty. Worth every penny spent. Absolute malt and sourmash bomb. In a year, it will be even better, but why wait? Well done, boys, well done!
