Bottle with hella thanks to 50belair! Pours opaque black with a medium brown head and decent lacing. Aroma is very roasty, ashtray, coffee. Flavor is super roasty, ashtray. Light sweet and medium bitter with some coffee acidity and a lingering bitter finish. Full body, creamy. Improves as it breathes. Nice beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Saturday afternoon football watching tasting crew beer. Serious coffee flavors. The brunch is truly indicative of what you experience. Bittersweet roasty malt, coffee and a little bit of chocolate. Aromas of ground coffee. Flavors more of the chocolate. Sticky sweet with some light purple fruit on the back end and bittersweet finish. Big presence and flavor especially for the alcohol content here.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared with jrob21, EricTeusink, deadCATAtlanta. Pours thick black. Aromas were big sweet chocolate, coffee, roasted malts. Taste was really sweet and became even more so as it warms. Big bold bitter coffee, smooth, roasted, milk chocolate. Very nice but maybe just a touch too sticky sweet by the end in order to take it over the 4.0 barrier.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ Steve’s house, courtesy of arminjewell. A bit murky deep brown appearance with a dark brown head. Big bitter coffee, very earthy, dark chocolate, very roasty, a bit milky aroma. Lightly fruity, cherry, chocolate, roasty malty, coffee, slightly bitter, earthy flavor. OK but kind of disappointing.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thanks Paul. Thick black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of big coffee, cereal, hints of fruit, slight chocolate, hints of earth, slight biscuit. Taste is a mix of dark chocolate, lots of coffee, hints of earth, fruit, hints of cereal and bready notes, finishing fairly bitter, fairly sweet. Pretty interesting, but a bit odd.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750ml bottle via trade. pours dark, rich, and silky although not as thick as the bigger CCB stouts with a smooth, creamy, khaki head that leaves tight rings of lace. aroma is excellent with huge notes of roasted malts, black coffee, hazelnut creamer, bitter cocoa, and hints of cinnamon with subtle dark fruits emerging late. flavor is truly wonderful with huge roasted coffee, mocha frappe, baker’s chocolate, malts balls, and vanilla backed by notes of almond, toffee, and hints of black cherry. palate is medium bodied with smooth carbonation and a lingering finish of roasted malts and mocha coffee. overall, another wonderful effort from CCB.
