A pretty one dimensional beer, extremely heavy on roasted coffee with little else going on. This still means it is pretty tasty, but I do wish it was a bit more nuanced.

Aggressive opening, comin atcha! Rather massive head like 99% of the glass is foam on the first pour. Infected i thought. Just an over carbonated fuckin Stout. The head wont stop, rediculous. Rocky,brown/tan, perpetual with skimpy lacing. Body is black as night. Nose of co2, roast and dark, chocolatey malts. Med/full bodied with a bit much on the carbonation scale, bit prickly, thick on the palate, oily and coating, sorta tangy. Roast, coffee flavors, dark chocolate and cocoa, some metallic notes as well. Dry, roasty finish. Fairly predictable and standard fair though the carbonation just makes it even less so.Silly to have to deal with that level of co2 especially in a Stout. Some one compared it to Beer Geek Brunch? Not even close. Anudder winner from CCB! Meh. Props to CraftCommander for the 750. Thanks Marco!

750ml bottle, tasted at Natifest. Pours black in color, with a huge brown head. Takes a bit of time to fade to a reasonable amount. Black color. Thin ring of brown head. Leaves good thicker lace once it fades. Looks alright. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Good chewiness. Awesome coffee, moderate roast flavor. Reminds me of Mikkeller’s Beer Geek Breakfast quite a bit, but maybe with less strong of a carbonation. Big coffee, dark chocolate, bigger roast, some tobacco. Moderate to bigger bitter taste, lighter sweet. Fantastic coffee stout.

750 ml bottle to taster at NatiFest (shared by me; thanks burgers326). Looks good; heady though! A fairly opaque dull black with mocha head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; dark malt, dark chocolate, and roast, all well-balanced and robust. Tastes like it smells with a robust bust pleasant mouthfeel. Good stuff!

Coffee mug. Black pour with tons of brown head. Coffee, roasted and dark malt aromas. Sweet and roasted coffee flavors, nice breakfast beer.

Bottle at the house. Nose is roasted malts, cocoa powder, light coffee, smoke, ash, burnt toast, a hint of soy sauce. Pours a nice oily black with a huge khaki head. Flavor is roasted malts, lactose sweetness, dirt, iron, cocoa, ash. It’s pretty good. I think this thing has a ton of flavors for the lower abv. Complex and drinkable.

750mL bottle courtesy of Homer321. It pours with a nice dark body that supports a booming head of dark mocha colored foam. It looks this had some residual yeast in the bottle and became somewhat over carbonated. The aroma offers up baker’s chocolate, chocolate candy bar, malty sweetness and dark roasted coffee. The taste is rich and smooth (albeit a bit prickly with over carbonation) where I get a pleasing load of chocolatey goodness flowing into a mix of dark roasted malts and espresso. It gets a touch tannic and minerally here and there but that’s just off in the background. The malty sweetness conspires with the roastiness and the chocolate to create an enjoyable flavor. This should be about a 3.0 but it is getting the “homer” bump.

Bottle 1 pt 9.4 fl oz at Fruits of the Foeder, 2014-05-17.
Black color, dark brown head. Coffee, green bell peppers scent. Swet, coffee taste. Coffee aftertaste, also roasted. Fizzy sort of growing mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

Not a horrible effort but it kind of misses the mark. A bit thin and not as much flavor as I was hoping for.
