3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle... Pours Marshal Zhukov black with a small, creamy, beige head. The roasty aroma is a combination of autumn spices, vanilla and mocha. Full-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor offers deeply roasted malt, charcoal, dark chocolate and an unsavory note of cardboard. Finishes with a roasty kiss of licorice and more cardboard. Bottle courtesy of darkguardian!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pour is black with a tight mocha colored head. Nose is heavily spiced, ginger bread, nutmeg, cinnamon, pine needle. Taste is spicier, still a ton of spice. Lots of cinnamon and nutmeg with a fair about of pine needle and lots of cayenne pepper spice. Body is full, mild carbonation, soft palate.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a lacy, tan head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts, a lot of spices, some squash/pumpkin notes, light rye, a lot of malty sweetness, and some light hop notes. Flavor the same with sort of a weird blend. Average to smoother texture. Not awful, just expecting better.

Bottle to flute...thanks Ferris
Nice gourdy aroma, kind of like pumpkin, but maybe squash. Theres something sweet, but not overly sweet, perhaps beet. There’s also ginger and a touch of cocoa, and burdock. Its appearance is a deep brown with a ringed tan head. Taste is spice, red pepper, chocolate, and nutmeg.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle - Cinnamon, cardamom, chocolate and earthy squash. Jet black with a decent brown head. Chocolate, cocoa, sweet starch and a nice sweet finish. I like that it isn’t over the top and offers a nice chocolate base to fall back on.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle acquired via trade and opened with deyholla. Neate. Pours a rich blackish hue, near opaque with a bit of brownish glow on the edges. Frothy brownish head sticks as a decent layer, mellow ring laces ok. Aromas are rich pumpkin pie spice, gentle mace and cinnamon, nutmeg, subtle vanilla and spiciness, clove and biscuit. Gentle caramel, black malts and cocoa. A bit more sweetness meets firm pie spice. Initial is lighter in body than anticipated, a bit roasty, earthy, peanuts and ash meet some gentle cocoa, caramel and toastiness. Decent pumpkin and caramel in to the middle, some firmer spice dries out but more roast, cocoa nib. Ash, earthy peanut shells and soil. Backend is a touch of dark fruit, roasted and carmelized pumpkin meet firmer coffee and cocoa nib, dry and bitter with good roast. A bit earthy and spice driven. This beer turns out better than I expected. Meh. Solid and interesting, the dark and roasty malts give some complexity.
