had a few times before, never really got into it .. prune juice, mild foam .. . mild mannered mouth .. light chewy raisins and plum toffee .. a rather muted barleywine .. . .the proper form of address for Australians: "For Christís sake, not in the sink".

12 can Feel: medium body; good carbonation; a bit hot. Plenty of dark soaked fruits in the nose. O: decent, but poorly hidden alcohol. Would probably benefit from aging.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2016 Tasted during RBWG grand tasting. 12oz can. Hazy brown red color. Thin ring of off-white head. Nice earthy hoppy aroma, english toasty biscuity bready malt. Moderate sweet taste, bigger bitter. Alcohol works well. Bigger body. Smooth, crisp, lighter carbonation. Dry finish. This stuff is awesome. Great balanced barleywine.

Older, misplaced rating from 6/12/14: 12oz can, thanks to b3shine for sharing. Dark red brown color. Thin ring of khaki head. Couple dots of lace. Looks solid. Dark fruity, light spicy aroma. Toasty malt. Some tobacco notes. Moderate bitter taste, light to moderate sweet, light nice alcohol warmth. Medium to bigger body. Solid, complex, maltier barleywine. Alcohol works very well. Good bitterness counterbalances the beer very well. I expected much more sweetness for this big of a beer, there is very little of that. Big beers in a can are always fascinating to me.. Would love to take this one backpacking (weight efficiency!). 8/4/8/4/15
