Damico (2579) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 31, 2014
Pours thick brown amber with a sandy beige head. Aroma brings sweet malts typical of the style, a bit perfumey without being too resiny and a bit of booze. The flavor brings malty thick notes, not too syrupy with some light bitterness. Pretty smooth for such a high ABV.

2014-08-15. Dark brown body with a nice beige head. 3+ Aroma of malt, caramel notes, toasty malt and alcohol. Flavour is sweetly malty throughout, lightly bitter in the finish. 7++ Smooth medium bodied palate, average carbonation. Decent, seems fairly simple. Can at Campground Brewdown

12oz can shared at Campground Brewdown. Hazy dark brown body with small tan head. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, plum, some brown sugar. Taste is moderately sweet, plum, caramel, some grapefruit. Sticky full body, low carbonation.

Can courtesy of burg - thanks Adam. Pours a deep brown body with thick off white lacing. Aroma is sweet malt and brown sugar. Mouthfeel is medium and smooth with notes of sweet malt, raisin bread, brown sugar and light cocoa. Okay.

12oz can via trade. Poured a so so looking murky mud brown with a darker center and an average sized foamy light beige head. Aroma is sweet, burnt sugar, molassess, caramel, Englis toffee. Nice body, medium to fuller body, soft to average carbonation, lingering aftertaste. Flavor is a bit hot and dry, notes of caramel, molassess, toffee, burmt sugar and some roasted citrus. Nice.

DuffMan (6739) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 22, 2014
Can, shared at RBAG 2014, I believe by Ferris. Darker than Leon, with less head formation. Toasty burnt toffee leads into a harsh aspirin bitterness. Not nearly the beer that Leon is.

Bottle to goblet at RBAG...thanks Ferris. Cheese, oak, and booze. Muddy brown, creamy tan head. Harsh booze and oak. Not impressed with this one, on to Leon.

kbudd19 (595) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 12, 2014
Can shared by Ferris at RBAG. Pour is dark muddy brown, with a thin layer of white head, coats the glass the nicely. Aroma is oak, some nutty astringency, a hint of booze. Taste is thick syrupy mouthfeel, followed by loads of bitterness, quick sharp finish.

Can - Woody hops, toffee and some vinous. Cloudy brown with a brown head. Woody hop bitterness and toffee. Finish is bitter. Not sure about this.

cpetrone84 (1379) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 3, 2014
Pour is dark cola brown with a lot of tight tan head. Nose has a decent malt presence, some dry chocolate, musky caramel, a bit sugary, notes of oxidation and booze. Taste is the same, some decent malt up front, gets sugary and sweet mid palate, cardboard and booze in back. Full bodied, assertive carbonation, body holds up well.
