4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Sean9689 (192) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 12, 2010
750mL bottle, #110/204, into CCB snifter.
A - Pours black, light tan-colored head. There’s a nice ring around the glass and some head remains on top as the cap.
S - I get a majority of Winter Warmer, orange liquer-esk nose, lots of hot alcohol. I can get some of the brandy Hunahpu’s but not any of the Zhukov.
T - This is where this one shines. Not near as hot as I was expecting, which is great. Nice bourbon notes from the Buffalo Trace barrels, chocolate (both milk and dark), apples, oranges, vanilla, oak/barrel, cinnamon. Anyway, I could probably go on here, but I won’t. Very complex for such a young beer with very little alcohol hotness. Impressive.
M - Full bodied, rich and smooth, semi-dry finish.
D - I had two snifters worth and was very satisfied. We split the bottle three ways and killed it. This beer is excellent, and I imagine in a year or so, it’s going to get even better.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 pantanap (2838) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 12, 2010
Campeador Rurik, bottle 110 out of 204. Thanks to Sean for bringing
this by... Pours a deep mocha pour, not too thick, with reddish brown
edges and a thin khaki head... Aroma of fruity unripened fruit and
bourbon with more of an emphasis on the winter warmer... Flavors are a
continuation of the same with the bitter fruity notes of the winter
warmer which pair with some subtle burnt wood aspects coming from
Zhukov. Some appliness from the brandy barrel and some form of
combination of winter warmer. Medium bodied with fluffy carbonation
and some liveliness.. doesn’t seem consistent to what others have mentioned.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 gkost (1360) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 10, 2010
Bottle courtesy of Joe @ Sour Slam! Pours a deep deep brown/black. Nose is roasted malts, molasses, coffee, bourbon and dark cherry. Flavor is vanilla, wood, subtle bourbon, hints of coffee and heavy roast. Beauty.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 kiefdog (1826) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 7, 2010
Bottle from Knightly Spirits (Orlando, FL). Pours a deep, dark menacing black color with a creamy dark tan head that settles slowly. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of ripe dark fruits, bourbon, oak, vanilla, caramel, toffee, sweety goodness. Flavor is more of the same with some stronger bourbon notes, vanilla, and a lightly smoky note. Full body with a pleasing boozy finish. Wish there was more of this beer to go around.
4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 dimenhetfield (1733) - , Florida, USA - JUN 26, 2010
Big big thanks to Phil for sharing some of this with me. The aroma was big and robust with flavors of chocolate, vanilla, spice, caramel. As the beer warms up you really get the up front, knock you in the face aroma of everything. The taste was probably the smoothest CCB I’ve had. Sat very well on my tongue with a good amount of carbonation. I could taste it 5 minutes after my first sip, needless to say it was heavenly.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 arminjewell (3107) - Parker, Colorado, USA - JUN 23, 2010
Pours big black with tan head, aroma is big and deep with dark fruit, caramel, toffee, and some roasted malt. Taste is very complex, nice caramel and toffee up front leading into raisin, fig, and some coffee and chocolate, finishing sweet but with a touch of roast and bitter. Awesome, all components of both types of brews and they mix well.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 steelcitybrew (420) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUN 19, 2010
This beer is awesome. Aroma opens with a sweet cocoa scent and pours a dark black with a excellent thick brown head. I had a refreshing spicy chili pepper flavor with chocolate, cherries, and alcohol shining through. Spicy in the mouth with a medium mouthfeel. Decent warming feeling. You will regret it if you missed out on this beer. Make a trade.

Rating #9 of this brew -- big thanks to daknole for sharing. Live rate! Pours a roasted coffee color with a thick brown head that leaves plenty of lacing. Rough looking chunks of unfiltered goodness and barrel sludge in this one. Smells great -- loaded with raspberries, cookie dough, cocoa, and vanilla. Tastes of each with added notes of raisin, caramel, lactose. Beeter than the first. Quality.

Black pour with a rich brown head. Prunes, molasses, vanilla, bourbon, ash and some tobacco. Flavor is loaded with vanilla, caramel, bourbon, prunes, slight smoke, and a nice alcohol warmth. Awesome.
