Pours dark brown with a khaki head. Smells quite oxidized. Taste is sweet and still roasty. Dry finish and thin bodied. Going downhill, but ok.

Bottle shared at Hunaphu Day. Black pour with a small tan head. Whiskey and caramel aroma with fudge, nuts, dark fruits and earth. Flavor hints at a bit of sourness with more dark fruits, burnt sugars and caramel malts. Woody, boozy and big bodied. Glad to have tried it.

(Bottle) Pours black with a creamy nougat coloured head. The aroma holds raspberries, subtle fruits, robust/well structured malt (caramel, chocolate, mild coffee, cookies, whisper of smoke) mild tones from the barrel (alcohol, butter, vanilla) and a touch of hops. Balanced nose. The flavour is light sweet, light to medium bitter and tiny acidic with perfect balanced malt, subtle hops , some fruits and well integrated barrel ageing. The mouthfeel is soft, robust and fairly velvety with a light carbonation. Complex, malty finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle 12 oz, tnx to Greg. Pours black brown with a rich creamy tanned head leaving lace. Aroma is fruity berry raspberries sweet sour slightly vanill and nice touch of bourbon. Flavor is very nice, sweet vanilla bourbony in front, good barrel character with a solid malt base not too heavily characterized by the OT, some nuttyness also towards the end with gentle bitterness and sustained vanilla/bourbon and fruityness. Finishes with all flavors well mixed leaving the bitter and malts the longest straw.

22nd October 2010 Opaque very dark brown beer, residual tan head. Sourish wood nose. Crispy semi dry palate. Dark malt with wood and a light sourness. Unsweet dark chocolate and a trace of cherry. Finishes dry and woody and a little sour. Not bad but I don’t really want sour from a dark beer.

Flavor is some coffee, roast, tart vanilla, and bourbon. Really great beer, might have been a little infected, but still drank good in my book.

12oz traded Batch 2 bottle, 2009, 441/450. Nice looking pour with a small brown head that settles quickly into a film. Interesting aroma of bourbon, vanilla and a sour, tartness. Wow, that flavor is not what I expected. Really complex and finishes with a dry, bitter coffee taste. I’m not a huge band wagon member for CCB but this offering is really nice and something different.

Huge thanks to Chad for this bottle... dark brown with a light creamy tan head, good retention at first then falls fast... the nose is very boozy, but its distinctly Maker’s Mark with peat, nice... the taste is fading a bit, the bourbon isn’t there as much more of a scotch ale, a bit of roast... drink this soon

Served from a 12 oz bottle thanks to a generous trade from JW77 a little ways back. The appearance is a deep jet black with a ton of particulate and a small tight bubbled head. The aromas are full of caramel from a chard bourbon barrel, vanilla, scotch, and a slight sourness at times. Love the chard oak and caramel in the nose. The flavors take a bit to warm up to. I am not sure if that is because of the carbonation or the booze, but after a bit the flavors start to shine through. Rich malt profile, bourbon, scotch/gin flavors, barrel, some light chocolate too. The mouth is heavily carbonated which I have some mixed emotions on. It gives this booze in tonic water feel. Overall a tasty blend of fantastic beers. Thanks Johnathan.
