355mL copper wax thanks to the CCB collector’s box at RBWG Grand Tasting. Never thought I’d get to try this one. Pours a clear cola brown with a larger than expected tan head. A bit overcarbonated. Nose is infected but nice- red wine barrel, funky, bourbon, malted milk balls, vanilla, macadamia nuts, powdered milk. Strange but I like it. Taste is sweet tomato paste, sugar, sticky caramel, denser sugary body. Not quite drained from the infection. Aerated palate with some remaining silkiness. A bizarre, but fun beer that is slowly souring in the bottle.

Bottle to taster (thanks Leighton). Looks solid; an opaque dark brown with beige lacing. Smells solid; malty. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Solid beer.

12 ounce bottle poured a dark brown, almost black color, aromas of booze, dark fruit, light spicy rye, chocolate, some pumpernickel, and more booze. Flavors are the same with some sweet vanilla and molasses thrown in. My god did I really dig this beer, I wish I had more bottles to drink of this. When is batch 5 coming out?

Got a 12 oz. bottle in a trade with BOLTZ7555, thanks man!! Nice eye appeal. Deep, dark brown, nearly black with full, beige head that left layers of lace down the glass. Nose is an interesting sweet mixture. Oak wood, roasted malt and a combination of dark fruits. (Raisins and a sweet indescribable fruit) Taste is lots of oak upfront. Followed by caramel, dark fruit and chocolate. Layers of sweetness with notes of bourbon, vanilla and molasses. Lots of malt and lots of Earthy oak. After the sip it leaves a slight warming sensation without any harsh ABV. Overall it has a few nice layers of flavors. But a sipper brew for sure.

In short: An extremely brutal sticky fruity dark ale of some kind.
How: Bottle 12oz. Consumed when a little over one year of age. Bottle sent to me by hopscotch, thanks a lot Eric
The look: Near black body with burgundy highlights, small beige head with minimal lacings
In long: Intensely scary nose of boozy dark fruits, alcohol fumes and a ton of sweetness. My god, this things smells like some kind of hard-liquor made out of prunes. This is really scary. Taste is just as scary, condensed prune juice, excessive sweetness, a whole lot of alcohol burning. Figs, Rye bread, raisins, oak, thick caramel, dates, unexpected spiciness (hot pepper, nutmeg), some balsamic vinegar, a shot of hard-liquor. That thing is only 9% but it burns like a 14% beer. I tried my best but I just couldn’t finish my little 12oz bottle. This beer is excessively brutal and goes over the top at throwing everything at you, even by CCB standards. I’m probably the least judgemental person on this site, I would see you having anal sex with a donkey in the back of a Toyota Corolla and I’d assume you have a very good reason to do so, but if you give Oscuro Batch 4 a good rating then this is too much for me, you’re a CCB homer.

(Bottle) Pours black with a pale brown head. The aroma holds rye bread, mint, barrel wood, mild spices, robust malt, hints of estery fruits and citric/earthy hops. Quite vinous and complex nose. The flavour is near medium sweet, near medium bitter and light acidic with notes of wine/port, barrel wood, fruits, complex malt, some hops and light spice. The mouthfeel is round, smooth, fairly velvety and tiny tart with a light carbonation. Wood, smooth malt and bit vinous on the finish. Medium bodied.

A murky brown color with minimal head formation. Sweet vanilla and booze with dark fruit, a touch of wood and whiskey, and lots of caramel. Might even be a slight spiciness of nutmeg and/or cinnamon in there. The flavor is boozy and sweet, quite sticky and sugary, but enjoyable. Lots of vanilla, caramel, and brown sugar to go with a fair amount of dark fruit.
