Huge thanks to daknole as usual. Bottle pours deep brown with a tan head. Aroma is f’n amazing showing notes of milk chocolate, dark chocolate, bourbon, tobacco, dark fruit, oak and roasted malt. Flavor shows the same with some vanilla and a touch of rye showing through. Overall body is full and viscous. Starts out sweet and finishes a touch sour with some roasted bitterness. A sipper but damn good.

Bottle B#4 (gold wax) from beace. Good looking pour. Big head, black in color. Aroma of fruits, malty and alcohol..... Taste is like the nose, alcohol very prominent. Sweet malty, fruity... meh... rather drink something else. Needs balance. Just to big. Medium body. Thanks to brad for the beer!

WOW!!! Another amazing freakin’ beer from CC. The pour was blacker than a steers’ tuchus on a moonless night. The nose was a blur with chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, and oak. The taste was unbelievably smooth and complex with all kinds of layers and sublayers. The beer has that silky porter feel to it with dark fruits, carmel, toffee, roasted malt, and bourbon flavors. One could get into some serious trouble with this deceptively smooth nine percenter...

Bottle at cgarvieuk’s tasting. Deep, deep reddish brown pour. Musty, earthy nose. Hints at sour cherry maybe. Rich and sweet palate, hints of chocolate and more tangy cherry with a really luscious mouthfeel. Lovely, rich beer.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 kbutler1 (1259) - Minnesota, USA - OCT 10, 2010
Bottle courtesy of cyrusthepup from BA. Pours a very dark brown color with a slightly tan head. Nice strong aroma of a mix caramel, chocolate, vanilla, oak, and dark fruit. The taste again is a nice blend of multiple flavors and it’s somewhat hard to pick out specific flavors. The barrels really make an appearance as the glass warms. Some nice chocolate and dark fruit with a nice slight bitterness that lingers. Some booze evident but not overly so or in a bad way. Some sweetness as well. I wish I was more familiar with the CCB line up to be able to pick out the specific beers but nonetheless this is a really tasty beer. Medium mouthfeel with slight carbonation.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Chipalsa (1090) - Florida, USA - JUL 1, 2012
The dark body on this sexy brew made it look like a stout. The aroma revealed bourbon-soaked raisins, cherries, vanilla and wood. The taste is beyond incredible! Notes of; Chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, earth, raisins, cherries and oak. In the finish is an almost tart fruitfulness that puts this one over the edge. Holy shit this is good stuff - thanks Jordan!

12 oz gold wax dipped bottle. This one pours a deep, dark mahogany brown color and topped by a small mocha colored head of foam that shows good retention. The head leaves behind some nice rings of lace around the glass. The aroma shows notes of caramel, dark fruits, roast, dry cocoa, and rich dark chocolate. The bourbon laden oak adds some caramelized sugars, plenty of woody vanilla for smoothness, and some spicy rye grain. The bourbon adds its signature twang as well. The flavor follows and is based in rich caramel, dark chocolate, and oaky vanilla to go with the bourbon flavors. The rye spices start to come through as things warm up along with hints of smoke, dark fruits, and cocoa roast. The rye spice and roast work perfectly with the bourbon and prevents things from getting overly sweet. Nearly full bodied, smooth on the palate and subtle carbonation leads to a smooth bourbon and cocoa finish. The nearly 5 months in the bottle has done wonders for this as it was entirely too hot and sweet the first time I had it. This is a really nice barrel aged blend. Good stuff.
