Bottle @ Crooked Stave ROY-G-BIV Day, thanks to Armin for sharing this! Pours a dark brown appearance with a thin brown head. Really a lot going on in the nose and not necessarily in a muddled way. There’s some barrel characteristics, some booze, wood, dark chocolate, caramel and dark fruits. A bit of grape and plum fruity in notes in the flavor along with oak, spicy brandy, and caramel. Interesting brew but a bit hot.

Pours dark brown, almost black with very minimal head, scant flat bubbles. Aroma is brandy (would have thought bourbon without beer description), dark chocolate, vanilla, hint cinnamon, oak. Taste is sweet chocolate, tart dark fruit/cherries, vanilla, oak, finishes smooth and dry without much bitterness, alcohol present but not in your face. Really good, especially as I’m not usually a fan of blended beers.

Bottle. Subtle chocolate and sweet grapes in the nose. Subtle dried fruit. Done cherry almost like a fruit roll up. Some toffee as it warms. Plenty of barrel but not overpowering. Light warming but not hot. Pretty grate. Yummy.

Bottle share thanks to Homer321. Pours a deep dark blackish color. Boozy, bourbon, oaky, vanilla, and chocolate aroma. Sweet boozy, oaky flavor...vanilla, chocolate. Barrel and alcohol are big but still smooth. Very delicious!

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, thick oily black pour with thin to no tan head, aroma brought big bourbon, oak, whiskey, lots of dark fruit with hints of the cognac soaked fruits coming through, touch of dark fruits, lots of caramel, toffee in there, all sweet. Taste is big sweet dark fruits, cocoa, dark molasses, hints of roast and coffee fade quick into sweet cognac, oak, and whiskey, slight vanilla, finishing sweet.

Bottle, 10/20/2013. Pours deep brown, nearly black, thin off-white head develops on the surface. Aroma is drizzled chocolate over dark fruit, rich caramel and thick dark malts, brown sugar, vanilla, hint of coffee, smooth barrel notes. Taste is chocolate toffee, dark fruit and caramel with spicy hoppy bitterness, vanilla and sweet barrel notes, mildly boozy. Medium body, could use a bit more thickness but nonetheless quite drinkable. Found this to be pretty tasty.

Bottle from MeadMe, thanks for the opportunity! Pours an opaque color of darkness with a tiny tan head that evaporates like the rain in an August Orlando. Aromas of heavy brown sugar and lots of vanilla with hints of oak and dark dried fruits. Lightly vinous with hints of caramel, toffee, licorice, and chocolate. I could smell this beer forever. Sweet brown sugar with vanilla up front. A vinous alcohol flavor with a hint of heat comes in next. Light pitted fruits with caramelized sugars and hints of molasses and soy. Finishes with a lingering alcoholic sugary sweetness. Thick body with a light level of carbonation and a sweet syrupy mouthfeel. Big thick sweet beer that I thoroughly enjoyed sipping on for half the night.

Yellow wax bottle to snifter. Received this as an extra at Hunahpu’s Day this year. Surprised that I could hear carbonation release as I cut away the heavy wax atop the bottle. Mahogany brown pour with almost no head. Appears to be flat. Definitely lifeless in the glass. Nutty aroma. Flavor is like (a) Utopias...mat shot. There is an unfortunate urine fragrance that influences the flavor. Taste has a sour port wine quality with a cognac finish. Interesting and disappointing.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2013 (Rating #8,300) Bottle... This beer rocks!… Clear, dark mahogany ale with a fleeting, creamy, taupe head. The fruity, roasty aroma is a mixture of dark candied fruits, coconut, mocha and caramel. Medium to full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and modest carbonation. The flavor provides sweet caramel and fruity liquor heat accompanied by undercurrents of vanilla and pouch tobacco. Finishes boozy and malty. Another world class barrel-aged blend from Cigar City!

Boost unknown. Courtesy tossed by thealum where he was @ just Not just now. Some plummy sweetbread tangy ffuitcake notes. Muddled. Slightly medicinal cognac. C@.
