What a treat to walk in and get this barrel aged stout frest from the tap. Shamefully, I was told they only made 2 barrels, so I hope ill be lucky to get more tomorrow. Smooth, creamy and the caffeine kick a nice bonus!! Lovely brew!!

On tap at Cigar City tasting room. Wow, I was completely surprised by this beer. Tastes like a Cafe con Leche. Very coffee forward but well integrated. Coffee with cream chocolate, vanilla and sweetness. Very nice indeed!

Tap at CCB. Nose of pure roasted coffee and a hint of chocolate and raw sugar. Crazy. POur is that good old jet black, impy stout pour with a dark tan head. CCB knows what they’re doing with these big stouts. Flavor is tons of fresh brewed coffee and sugar. Sweet and chocolatey like a mocha bomb. Awesome stuff. There’s a lot of coffee in this, obviously, but very pleasing even to someone like me who doesn’t care for coffee at all.

Couldn’t believe how good this brew was! The body had a rich black body and thin head. Roasted malts were in the aroma, and smelled like diving into a fresh cup of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. The mouth feel was smooth with notes of chocolate, vanilla, coffee and fresh hops. Finishing with a pretty dry taste, there was an incredible essence of mocha left afterwards. One of Cigar City’s best by far - and I hope to see it again.

On draft at CCB, poured a dark black color with a tan head, the beer coats the glass with a nice brown residue. Aromas of espresso, chocolate milk, cream and a touch of sugar. Flavors are the same, pretty much a cold carbonated cafe con leche with a slight boozy aftertase. Really great beer that I wish was in their regular lineup.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2012 Draft at cigar city with Linh. Pours a deep black body with nice hocolate brown lacing. Aroma is a wonderful blend of coffee, chocolate and chestnut. Mouthfeel starts creamy and syrupy with notes of chocolate syrup and coffee. Finishes light, almost like an imperial brown. Great balance.

Draft @ CCB. A black beer with a thin tan head. Hard roasted Cuban coffee nose, coffee profile is very rich and developed. Full chewy body with a silky mouthfeel and moderate to soft carbonation. Flavor is nicely balanced but maybe a tad heavier on the bitter, burnt, roasted coffee side. Big notes of sweet chocolate and hard roasted malt with a spot on coffee profile. Excellent though, may have benefited from a touch more lactose.

This thing is coffee/expresso for DAYS. Coffee, burnt coffee, expresso...more coffee, and, coffee. You’ll get some caramel as soon as it hits but mid-way and BE are all coffee, this beer will fool you into thinking you’ve just had your morning cup. Very good. Was going to tick the Dark Lord for number 100 but we’ll save that and rate this in tribute to an awesome local brewery that I’m fortunate enough to give my patronage to.

Pours jet black. Thin quickly disapating brown head. Nose is milk chocolate, rich coffee, heavy roast, sweet molasses, vanilla bean, earthy grain. Flavor is sweet chocolate malt, roasted chocolate almonds, bitter roasted coffee, sweet espresso with cream, hints of smoke. Finishes dry bitter coffee. Body is oily and full. Absolutely incredible beer.
