UPDATED: APR 2, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Kevin! Pours a nutty, mahogany brown color with slight clarity, topped with a swampy ecru skin that turns into an actual head when the glass is swirled. Initial aroma has a strange, almost tart dark fruitiness that was throwing me off, but it seems to subside with some warmth/time. Successive inhales bring out rich coffee beans, like sticking your nose into a fresh whole bean bag. Notes of roasted nuts, tobacco, toffee, & dried dark fruits make their way in, too. Taste has a very woodsy essence with a big nuttiness that leads into a huge coffee bean profile. Good mix of roasty & just lightly sweet. Touch of cocoa powder with more coffee & nuts in the finish. Aftertaste has a very slight staleness but nothing too concerning. I know it’s just a brown ale, but a little more creaminess in the body would do this one well. Good flavor for the ABV, not a bad brown at all.

Clear amber with a nice ivory head. Coffee and chocolate aroma is strong. Body is light and mouth is thin but there is some depth to the flavor. Smoke, wood, coffee, vanilla. Finish is pleasant making this quite memorable.

Can @ THT November. Pours a clear brown beer without any head on top. Aroma is massive espresso coffee, as to be expected, chocolate and loads of malts. Really intense. Flavor is basically cold coffee with sugar in it. Incredibly good to drink, very strong and full flavored, despite low abv. Very nice stuff.

Can at THT. Red pour with thin white head. Aroma of cold brewed coffee, vegetal, light pepper. Taste is sweet, nice coffee flavor, mild fruity notes. Palate is light, light carbonation. Decent but was expecting something more, a bit watery.

12 oz can from newcigarz (thanks!) with a printed message on the bottom instructed me to "DRINK LOCAL." Pours dark cola brown with creamy khaki head. Aroma: typical of a brown ale. Coffee is surprisingly muted. More chocolate, caramel, toast and biscuit. Taste: there’s coffee in this? Sort of an odd nutty cola with hints of cherry. Tobacco and roast. Sweet with a lightly bitter finish. Palate: medium- body, average carbonation, smooth creamy texture. Overall: I didn’t like this at first, but grew on me fast -- crushed it before I knew it. No hint of coffee anywhere, but a tasty brown anyway.

12 oz. can from Homer321. Thanks bro! It pours a deep amber red/brown color with a khaki/orange head. The aroma is really nice with toast, fresh ground coffee, light notes of red fruit and cocoa. Smells great. The flavor has strong coffee, earth, cocoa, toast and hints of plum/raisin. Nice body. Delicious stuff.
