COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The humble gherkin. Usually we encounter this unassuming green fruit pickled or sliced and flung atop a salad. But the cucumber has so much more to offer us. It is a remarkably refreshing gourd with the power to cool a dry tongue and when just two sliced wheels are placed atop the eyes of a lounging lass in a stock photo ad for a spa the mythical cucumber has the magical ability to justify obscene spa service fees. Truly an amazing botanical gift to the world. We chose to employ the cucumber in a low gravity Saison to create a refreshing seasonal ale redolent with notes of honey, tropical fruit, lemon bitterness, and of course cucumbers. Brewed as a survival tool for the Florida Summer this cucumber creation features Citra and Sorachi Ace hops. So put some cucumber wheels on your eyes, lean back, relax and enjoy. Ahhhhhhh.

Bottle, 75cl, at TFODRBSG 2012. An unclear, golden beer topped by a dense, off-white head. Mostly cucumber in the aroma, a faint note of spicyness and generic fruityness in the back. The flavor is also on the cucumber side, leaving little room for anything else. Some faint maltyness and a fruity touch too. Medium body, quite effervescent. Ok, I like cucumber, but this blend was too much for me. A strange one, sort of refreshing, but too much. 120818

Bottle. Pours unclear golden with a huge bubbly white head. The aroma is earthy hops, cucumber (wow) and dill. Some yeast. The flavour is dill, cucumber and yeast mixed with fruity hops. This is strange in a very peasnt way.

On tap, Momo’s Pizza. Hazy, tripel-looking beer. Aroma is half-and-half mix of pickles/cukes and bret-laced Belgian ale. Interesting, but not something that I’d want a lot of - a reasonable offering of Vlassic flavors and saison, but It was getting hard to choke down towards the end. Technically, pretty good. Initially, interesting. Long run, not my cup of tea. Medium body, fizzy.

Bottle sampled at Ale Alpharetta. Pours yellow pour with a decent fluffy head with good retention. Aroma is of course cucumber, spice and yeast. Had not idea the cucumber would be that bright, obvious and bold. Taste is more, much much more cucumber. Like fresh sliced, straight from the farm cucumber. At that point, that is all I could taste. I like cucumber, but this turned out just straight weird for me. Not horrible, but pretty close to offputting.

Bottle @ Fanø Slumber Party, 2012. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Nose is odd indeed. Cucumber, cabbage and corn. Flavor is hops pickles and yeast. Dry and fresh. I quite like it.

Draught at the Festival of Farmhouse Ales. Deep, dark orangish-gold with a nice head. Nose is cucumber, pickle, just pickles. Flavor also not so salty but cucumber and a bit of salty pickle. A little funky, grassy, somewhat vegetal. Interesting as hell, but I won’t say it’s great. Not terrible, though.
