3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at CCB for the BA Hunahpu release. The pour is green! Just kidding. A hazy, bright yellow pour yields essentially no head. Nose- well pretty absent given zero head. There is certainly some fresh cucumber but not super evident. No yeast profile sort of already tosses this out of the saison category. Taste...well there it is. Cucumber beer. Very obvious and startling. But very refreshing. Served as an amazing palate cleanser for our table and quite the good summer beer. I would certainly pursue this idea and think it could work with some tweaking. Very crisp, fresh cucumber abounding, and sort of a cucumber yogurt/tahini profile in the back end. Good stuff. Unfortunately not saison. +1 for refreshing session beer. From taste alone I would mark this at 3.7 level. But from other aesthetics, that is tough to dish out.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: SEP 28, 2011 This beer was seriously awesome. So awesome, that it blew my mind. I would drink this beer all summer long if it was in bottles. Light and refreshing. I honestly wanted a salted rim glass with it. Yummy.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured a cloudy light yellow, with a huge cucumber aroma and a hint of spices. At first taste it is like drinking a liquid cucumber, and refreshing. Had a subtle spiciness to it, with some yeast and grain flavors. However the cucumber flavor is very nice and really good in the florida heat while waiting in line.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I really liked this one in particular on BA Hunahpu day. It was hot outside and inside, and this was quite refreshing. Smell is huge cucumber, taste is even bigger cucumber. There was a tiny bit of vinegar, reminded me of a pickle, which sounds bad, but was strangely really good. Glad I had this one, perfect for the heat.

9/24/11. On tap at BA Hunahpu. Hazy yellowish pour with a small white head that fades. Whoaaa, crazy aroma - a bit sweet and definitely loaded with cucumber. Huge cucumber flavor with lingering bitter yeast, sweetness, and a bit of mint. Realllly weird... it’s like I’m drinking a salad. Wacky.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Draft @ CCB. Pours a hazy yellow with white head. Nose is WOW! HUGE cucumber notes, subtle grains and hints of spice. Unreal how well the cucumber comes though with the nose. Flavor is flooring! This is an amazing beer. The cucumber isnt subtle either. It’s there and it’s great. Super refreshing, big fresh cucumber flavor perfectly melded with the french/belgian yeast notes and clean grains. Amazing. Well done.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Funky Buddha. Saisons are one of my least favorite style, but I will try everyone in hopes of finding a great one. This beer is one of them. This beer is well balanced with the right amount of cucumber in the nose and taste. It doesn’t over power the beer but enhances the flavor. If it wasn’t for the fact, FB had a CCB tap takeover with Virgin Oak Hunahpu on tap, I would have drank this beer til the tap blew. From start to end, this is a great saison.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On draft at Funky Buddha for Cigar City Tap Takeover. This was probably the big hit of the night. Light orange hazy color with a thin frothy head. Aroma is straight up cucumber, pickle and a little bit of chives. It reminded me of eating a Cuban sandwich for some reason. Definitely a session-able beer.
