The humble gherkin. Usually we encounter this unassuming green fruit pickled or sliced and flung atop a salad. But the cucumber has so much more to offer us. It is a remarkably refreshing gourd with the power to cool a dry tongue and when just two sliced wheels are placed atop the eyes of a lounging lass in a stock photo ad for a spa the mythical cucumber has the magical ability to justify obscene spa service fees. Truly an amazing botanical gift to the world. We chose to employ the cucumber in a low gravity Saison to create a refreshing seasonal ale redolent with notes of honey, tropical fruit, lemon bitterness, and of course cucumbers. Brewed as a survival tool for the Florida Summer this cucumber creation features Citra and Sorachi Ace hops. So put some cucumber wheels on your eyes, lean back, relax and enjoy. Ahhhhhhh.

Bottle from Decanted. Upon a careful pour, a cloudy golden orange body emerges with a sizable white head on top that retains well. Sour yeast notes hit the nose right away with a subtle vegetable note hiding in the back. Amazing how the cucumber really shines through in the flavor. More tastes include grass, soapy yeast, pepper, and citrus. Lively carbonation and light body. Refreshing, yet complex, just like a Saison should be. Nice work.

Pours a hazy gold, with a thick white head. Aroma of grass, cucumber and Belgian yeast. Taste follows. Crisp and refreshing. Great summer beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from RBC a few days ago. Notes say to enjoy this fresh, so I did. I can see how the cucumber flavor might "pickle," if you don’t. Aroma is straight up cucumber (without the skin) and light-typical saison. Flavor gets more of the cucumber skin and carries some light bitterness of the vegetable on the back end of the palate. Very unique and great offering. You have to try it to believe it.

Pours cloudy golden with medium white head. Aroma is, well, cucumber. Also yeast, wheat and a hint of coriander. Taste is slightly bittersweet at first before turning into a and pleasantly bitter finish. The cucumber is strongly present. Body is medium and quite ceeamt with modest carbonation.

The aroma is very cucumbery with a touch of pickles, citrus, and honey. The appearance is light honey with a small head. The taste is exactly like the aroma. The palate is thin and refreshing. Overall it’s a very unique beer with a lot of character but I’m still trying to figure it out.

sample at Ale Alpharetta on 7/19/12. pours a hazy deep golden with a white head. the nose is all cucumber with a bit of odd spices. light to med body with more cucumber essence and light Belgian yeast esters. semi-dry finish with citrus and cucumber. glad I got a sample, b/c I wouldn’t want any more than that. odd beer.

Bottle pour from Armin, thanks! Exactly as advertised, cucumber through and through. Pour is a hazy gold, with a white head that lasts. Aroma is cucumber peel, mint, dill. Taste is pretty much the same. Really odd, but in a good way. Dry. Effervescent. Tasty. Thanks Armin

Bottle on my balcony with John, Ryan, and Eddie. Thanks again man! Poured a golden orange with a fluffy white head. Smell is big cucumber, light funk, light spice, and dill. Flavor follows suit with flavors of cucumber, dill, spice, lemon, and a touch of funk. Dry and crisp, with a light body and fizzy carbonation. Cool idea, yet kind of weird, but somehow works; I can’t explain it.
