COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The humble gherkin. Usually we encounter this unassuming green fruit pickled or sliced and flung atop a salad. But the cucumber has so much more to offer us. It is a remarkably refreshing gourd with the power to cool a dry tongue and when just two sliced wheels are placed atop the eyes of a lounging lass in a stock photo ad for a spa the mythical cucumber has the magical ability to justify obscene spa service fees. Truly an amazing botanical gift to the world. We chose to employ the cucumber in a low gravity Saison to create a refreshing seasonal ale redolent with notes of honey, tropical fruit, lemon bitterness, and of course cucumbers. Brewed as a survival tool for the Florida Summer this cucumber creation features Citra and Sorachi Ace hops. So put some cucumber wheels on your eyes, lean back, relax and enjoy. Ahhhhhhh.

Tap at CCB. Nose is intense fresh cucumber, some light pepper, grain, and a very faint sour, almost fruity, note. Pour is yellow with a white head. Taste is very refreshing. All cucumber. Some grain on the finish and a touch of lemon zest. Very nice on a hot day and a good change between sippin’ on that brandy zhukov. Great!!

Thanks to Armin for sharing - turbid gold - fizzy - smells like fresh cucumber puree, lemon, bready yeast - taste of light grain, chalk, dull yeastiness and strong cucumber - light spice in the finish - lingering wheat.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thanks Mike! Hazy golden pour with nice fluffy white head, aroma has notes of big cucumber, pear, peach, some white grape, biscuit, bready notes with some yeast, touch of grape. Taste is lots of cucumber, with a slight hint of spice, lemon, finishing with more cucumber. Like cucumber juice, very refreshing, but tasty.

Bottle @ Matt’s house, courtesy of arminjewell. Thanks Armin! Milky, yellow orange appearance with a nice white head. Surprisingly, it does smell like cucumber. Green veggie, lemon citrusy, a bit spicy, refreshing aroma. Super rich cucumber, veggie, orange/lemon citrusy, somewhat spicy, overly thick cucumber flavor. Somewhat refreshing but way too much cucumber. This may be a cool beer with the cucumber tamed down.

On tap at Churchkey. Served in a mini snifter. Pours a clear light golden color with maybe a touch of cucumber. That’s unfortunately there’s the only place with just a touch of cucumber. The nose smells like cucumber juice. It tastes like cucumber water. Light body; no real beer character. It says saison, but I don’t get any sort of pilsner or bready malt, nor is there anything indicating saison yeast. Just cucumber. It doesn’t taste bad, but it’s not beer.

Draft at the Cigar City tasting room. Pours a cloudy pale orange color with a thin white head. Aroma is pure fresh cut cucumbers. Flavor is dominated by the cucumbers up front, but the saison spices become more noticeable later on. Very interesting, tasty and refreshing.

On tap at Tapestry, hazy yellow pour, small head/lacing. Notes of cucumbur, stale pale, green veggies, wet kind bud from back in the day. Easy going but not enough flavor or body to hold onto.
