4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Appearance: Pours honey gold with a thin dense white film.
Aroma: Light guava , dank weed, wine barrel, grass..
Taste: Big Brett/ white wine. Industrial, pineapple brett. Pale dry malt. I didn’t find the base beer to be all that sweet, as mentioned in the product description. Gonna guess 7% ish on the abv..
Mouthfeel: Full bodied ,average carbonation..
Overall: Tart, refreshing, complex, aromatic. Reminded me of my early experiences with Nebraska Brewing’s barrel aged farm house beers, which is a compliment.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft Sample @ Brewvival 2014. Amber pour with a moderate white head. Funky fruity tang. Tropical fruits rubbed in sweaty underarm. Lemon tart flavor. Funky buggy yeast and fruit smoothie. A bit farty, soupy. Medium body, soft carbonation. Better than the sum of its parts.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sour aroma, with a light, effervescent, spritz feel on the palate. Flavor has sour fruit, I taste pineapple in particular. Good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from 50belair, shared among friends. Pours crystal clear amber with a medium beige head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is fruity, guava and vinous oakiness. Flavor is light sweet, lightly funky with some brett-like notes. No real tartness per se. Lots of vinous nature with some fruit. Interesting beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs; thanks burg326). Looks Good; a cloudy amberish brown with ample foamy head that is very light caramel in color. Smells mildly tart and sweet with notes of guava, chardonnay, and oak. Tastes like it smells with a nice, wild-like body and mouthfeel. Good beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Not a huge fan of guava, and this beer suffers in my eyes for that and basically that alone, as the base is actually quite nice, the tartness levels are just right, and the wine barrel character adds a nice note to the finish. But the somewhat awkward sweetness of guava paste lingers in my mind and keeps this from pure excellence. Yes, I realize I am drinking a "Double Guava Ale" and complaining about it being too heavy on the Guava.
