COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We salute Don Gavino with this tart guava ale, aged in chardonnay barrels to create a balance between the sweetness of the base beer and fruit with the tartness of the lactic fermentation.

From Homer. Thanks! A: Ruby red with a white head. Nice legs. N: Big guava, pineapple and orange. Pear, cherry, and green apple. Peppercorns and quick breads. Yeasty. Big citrus. T: Slightly sour, plenty sweet, and citrusy. Very little bitterness, so the sourness has to cut the sugar, and it does its job. M: Prickly, medium body. O: The wine and fruit shine through proper proportions. A good fruit beer I’d have again, though it’s not as refined as New Glarus’ offerings.

750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy, deep amber with an off-white head. Aroma of guava, caramel malts, wine and oak, and more fruits and spices. Flavor the same. Average texture. A solid beer, but I wish it was as sour as Lacto Guava Grove.
