COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dos Costas Oeste is the result of a collaborative brewing effort between Cigar City Brewing of Florida’s Gulf (West) Coast and The Bruery of Placentia, CA. Like the breweries involved with its creation this ale cheerfully meanders off the beaten path. Join us in celebrating this West Coast to West Coast collaboration. Aged on Spanish Cedar Spirals

Pours a cloudy golden orange color with a huge white head. Smells like the inside of a cigar box. Just overwhelming cedar aroma that drowns out pretty much everything else. Maybe a little malt and yeast. The flavor is just as bad. Overdone cedar along with some pepper, ginger, and maybe a touch of malt sweetness and yeast. Not a fan of this one at all.

Tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration Day Two. Pours clear gold with a fine, white foam head. Massive spicy cedar nose. Big sweet flavor, lightly boozy with some honey and plenty of cedar wood. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish with some alcohol sting, mild pine bitterness, and just loads of cedar wood character. Light dryness, medium sweetness. Lasting woody bitterness. If cedar is your favorite you’ll love this. Otherwise, the cedar may be a bit much. I’m somewhere in between.

750 ml bottle courtesy of Craftbeerdesign (thanks Geoff!) poured a clear gold with a small lasting creamy ivory head. Aromas of grapefruit, cedar, white pepper, coriander and light orange zest. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of cedar, white pepper, grapefruit, coriander, light orange zest and light straw with a crisp dry lingering cedar finish.
