Dos Costas Oeste is the result of a collaborative brewing effort between Cigar City Brewing of Florida’s Gulf (West) Coast and The Bruery of Placentia, CA. Like the breweries involved with its creation this ale cheerfully meanders off the beaten path. Join us in celebrating this West Coast to West Coast collaboration. Aged on Spanish Cedar Spirals

Bottle shared by jcwattsrugger. Pours cloudy gold with white head. Nose/taste of cedar/cigar box, sweet orange peel, ginger, coriander and grapefruit. Taste is heavy cedar - a saison in a cigar box. Medium body.

Bottle… Mostly clear, straw-colored ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The aromatic highlights are spicy cedar, citrus peel an both spice-rack lemon pepper and spice-rack coriander. Medium to full-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor is nearly tart, moderately bitter and lemon peppery. Finishes tangy, bitter and a touch citrusy.

Gold pour, big white head. Yeasty aroma, lots of cedar, some sweet honeyed notes, spice. Flavor is cedar heavy, some spice, yeast, a bit sweet with some tart notes in the back. Interesting to say the least.

Bottle @ Scott’s Summer Saison tasting. Thanks so much Scott! Hazy golden appearance with a cream colored head. Very spicy cedar, tobacco, woody aroma with lighter citrusy notes. Spicy cedar, woody, lemon citrusy, a bit smoky, mainly cedar flavor.

750ml bottle. Poured a hazy golden/yellow color with an averaged sized off white head. Woody, cedar, vanilla, with some spices. Some fruitiness and bread too.

75cl bottle shared by Joes. Clear yellow - light orange color, small white head. Smell malts, sweetness, apple, fruits, some herbs and -I guess- cedar wood. Taste malts, sweet, again probably the cedar wood, but a lot of herbs or spices again. A bit fizzy carbonation, medium body.

Lateral tasting with bottles from Lueken Liquors. Funky aroma, the funk stays in the taste and is moderated by some grapefruit and lemon and the wood. Very good very spicy flavour, but you have to tolerate the barnyard. Good drinkability.Full mouthfeel, carbonation significant.

Bottle sample, thanks to Henrik Soegaard for sharing. Unclear golden body. Spotty lacing. Dry lemony hops to the nose, slightly spiced. Bittersweet taste profile of tangy fruits, mild pepper and yeasty fruitiness towards the ending. Fresh and dry bitter endnotes. Good, but far from being a favourite (Copenhagen, 12.05.2012).

Bottle. Pepper, lemon and strong cedar aroma - like an old cedar chest. Golden yellow with no head. Sweet cedar, strong black pepper and malt flavor. I could handle this better than the lemon wood but the cedar seem to overwhelm every other flavor in this beer besides the black pepper.

Bomber from Railroad Street Tavern. Pours turbid vivid gold with 3-finger well-retained creamy head. Nose is that awesome fresh ground black pepper right out of the mill, piney hops, cedar, mango, and florals. Nose reminds me a great deal of Humidor Cedar Jai Alai. Tastes very fruity, somewhat sweet, with orange marmalade and mango flavors, intense cedary black pepper, hops, and some finishing florals. Flavor is complex, with a lot of fruit, tons of cedary peppery notes, and a juicy deliciousness that makes you want to drink it with a funnel.
