4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 rbrazell (362) - Tallahassee, USA - FEB 9, 2012
Pours a unclear dark gold with a bubbly white head that dissipates quick. Bursting aroma of fresh pine, cedar, spice and yeast. Sweet entry that subdues into light vanilla and wood then quickly into strong cedar wood spice, lemon rind and yeast. Finishes very spicy and dry with a quick note of alcohol.

Cloudy amber, off white head.
Scent is caramel, pepper.
Taste is tart, bitter...cedar tones.
Like it’s lemon wood sister, this is just addditives piled on top of a mediocre brew.
AND slightly less pleasant.
1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 queenholly (516) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Bottle. Black pepper and cedar aroma. Golden with a small white head. Stale black pepper and cedar flavor. Please don’t send hate mail. This was a truly horrible experience for me. The cedar turpenes literally burned my tongue, which was still tender the next morning, as if I had eaten raw garlic.

Bottle. Pepper, lemon and strong cedar aroma - like an old cedar chest. Golden yellow with no head. Sweet cedar, strong black pepper and malt flavor. I could handle this better than the lemon wood but the cedar seem to overwhelm every other flavor in this beer besides the black pepper.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Papsoe (22987) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 26, 2012
On tap. Pours cloudy - close to opaque - with a small off-white head leaving laces. Mmmm, distinct cedar in the nose - love it. Medium body, very dry and very tart lemony accents, minerally even salty and again thick cedar notes. Pungent, astringent finish. I really, really dig the cedar aroma, but combined with the tart fruit makes this a very challenging and difficult beer to drink. But very interesting indeed. 240512
