3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: liquid sunshine. Grapefruit yellow and gold. Bubbly vibrant white head leaves a collar while very active carbonation sends a slow and steady stream of bubbles to the top.
Nose: grapefruit and soft leather – chamois. Apricot skins. Wild tropical fruits in the raw – guava, papaya, and starfruit – all basking under the warm summer sun. Raw ginger root.
Palate: freshly squeezed and pulped white and yellow grapefruit. Apricots. Fizzy frothy mouthfeel thanks to the still active yeasts bubbling and fermenting away – gives an ethereal quality to the beer altogether. Ginger and cumin mingle along the edges and in the breath. Soft white breads in the back. My tongue tingles with each quaff. Ripe tropical fruits.
Final Thoughts: wow! Grapefruit was our family business for two generations and while the Lier family may no longer be involved the grapefruit will always have a soft place in my heart. The stuff sold in supermarkets is crap; if you want real grapefruit really good you need to find a local grower and look into buying a bushel during picking season. In the meantime, I’ll get my grapefruit fix with the Dos Costas Oeste thanks to Cigar City.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home. Huge gusher! Even after after it had been stood still and chilled for ages. Hazed orange colour with a fine lasting white head. Aroma is effervescent orange blossom, and some Brett c pineapple and nice saison yeast character. Flavour is very sweet orange marmalade, carbonation, yeast. Too sweet for a saison. Palate is fine and effervescent.

Gusher. Lost half the 750ml upon opening. What remained was tasty. Astringent lemony scent. Color is a barely hazy yellow with big white head. Earthy and light citrusy flavor. As above, very, very bubbly. Hot on the tongue. Bottle - The Porter Beer Bar - Atlanta, Georgia

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy orange color out of the bottle. The bottle was a gusher but there was no real head in the glass. Lively on the tongue. Nose of spice and orange. Flavors of wood, orange juice, red grapefruit and some lemon rind. Sweet tart beer with some funk in the background.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
The second bretted saison of the day that came off tasting like heavy wintergreen to me. Like someone left gum in a glass of dupont and left it out on the counter for 6 hours. Slighty sour in a spoiled lactic sort of way.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Brown, huge but very fizzy head. Smells bready, toasty, and lots of caramel. Very heavy palate. Some citrus flavors, but not much - mostly heavy caramel flavors. Thanks to Secret Santa for this!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
As others have noted: GUSHER warning - better open this one outside (I was lucky enough to have done so). Aroma: bit citrus, lots of grapefruit, spicy farmhouse yeast notes, some light malts and hay, pepper. Appearance: light golden, hazy, big fizzy white head decent retention.
Taste: nice citrus fruit profile, of course lots of grapefruit, some lemon, dough, pepper, light malts.
Palate: medium body, high carbonation, prickly on the palate, semi-dry finish.
Overall: nice brew, this was fruity and complex, definitely worth trying.
