750mL courtesy of markwise. It pours slightly hazy deep gold to copper with off white head. The aroma is moderate in strength pushing up various spices, apricot and ginger notes. The taste has an even mix of apricot, ginger and funky green colored lemon peel and leaves from a lemon tree. The wood treatment creates an odd flavor experience as it seems sort of funky, herbally, tart and under ripe citrus all at the same time. Cool, interesting and odd.

750ml from Leuken’s Liquors. Pretty nice attempt here, with a strong and inviting nose of lemon zest. But the strong ale, and malty quality is once something of an ill fit for the wood and citrus to me. Enjoyable no doubt but a nice medium dry saison would do loads better in terms of bringing out both the wood and the fruit

Had this and the grapefruit and cedar versions over a couple of tastings in April and May. It had a yellowish golden pour, and a white head. Aroma of lemony and spicy notes. Flavor has certain hints of lemon, with some yeast and bread and a little spicy finish. Probably the best of the three.

Bottle @ Scott’s Summer Saison tasting. Thanks so much Scott! Hazy golden appearance with a cream colored head. Tangy, dull spicy, paper/woody, citrusy aroma. Nicely carbonated. Herbal/organic woody, orange citrusy, tangy, a bit spicy flavor.

Hazy yellow with white head. Scent is lemon, damp wood. Taste is tart lemon polish, a little ginger. Herbal. Very contrived brew....."Hey ! Let’s add some stuff to it !!!" Not pleasant.

Bottle. Funky, yeasty lemon pledge aroma. Dark golden with a small tan head. Medicinal artificial lemon flavor with and underlying funky yeast flavor. Lemon overpowered. Not a fan.

Bottle. Lemon, grape and yeasty malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Bitter lemon and iodine/betadine flavor - light malt. I really could not get past the bitterness of this beer - definitely not to my liking.
