Hazy golden orange color with a huge white head. The lemon certainly comes through, as does yeast and a strong pepper aroma. A mild spiciness, some lemongrass, and a touch of straw. The flavor has a good balance of sweetness from the bready malt and dryer, more earthy characteristics. Plenty of lemon, wood, lemongrass, straw, and pepper to make things interesting. Good yeastiness on the flavor as well.

Glad I have the other woods to try cause this was great. Really crisp and refreshing with peppery spice and acidic tartness at the finish. Crisp drinkable and interesting.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2012 750 ml bottle shared @ tkrjukoffs CCB Day tasting. Pours hazy orangish golden with a frothy goldenish white head that quickly dissipates  without leaving much trace. Smell is sweet, slightly sour and spicy with lemon hard candy, hay, barnyard, pineapple, mango, dry soil, lemon zest, ginger, orange zest, dry soil and hints of wheat crackers. Taste is very sweet and very tiny sour with lemon juice, lemon hard candy, cereal, wood, hay, dry soil, pineapple, cloves, mango, alcohol, white pepper and gummi candy. Mouthfeel is sticky sweet, slightly round, boozy and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and tiny sour with mango, lemon juice, lemon zest, dry soil, lemon candy, cloves and alcohol. Way too sweet, way too boozy... A mess...

Light saison characteristics, a mild background, light lemon flavors. This one is very impressive

Thanks to Dixonian for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a light orange-yellow color with a white head. The aroma has a hint of lemon in it, as well as some biscuit malt and maybe a little bit of cedar or other wood. The flavor is similar, with some subtle lemon notes coming through at the front. I also get some biscuit and toffee malt, as well as some Belgian yeast. The alcohol is well hidden. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. I tried the Grapefruit, Cedar and Lemon versions of this beer on the same night and this one was the most subtle in terms of both aroma and flavor. Now, to find some way to try the Orange version.

Pour at Scott’s saison tasting, pour out of bottle is hazy orange with white head, aroma brought lemon and lemon peel, some oak, vanilla, hints of grainy biscuit and bread, slight spice and pepper phenolic notes, much more balanced. Taste is lemon, grain with lots of wood and oak, some biscuit, spice, vanilla with a hint of caramel, finishing with even more oak, touch more bitter lemon.
