On firkin at CCB, 9 Sept 2011. Pours a hazy yellow-orange with head like cask beer. The nose is similar to Good Gourd- pumpkin, spice, some cloves, and then there was some earthy quality (maybe the seeds?) and a hint of slight chocolate. Flavor was similar with hints of cocoa added to the Good Gourd in the beer. Interesting for a few sips.

Review from notes at Cigar City’s taproom on 9/9/11 for Firkin Friday. Cask poured into a CCB snifter. Appearance: Poured a dark caramel color with almost no head and zero lacing. Smell: Huge pumpkin pie aroma with a nice toasted nuttiness and a touch of alcohol. Smells better than any pumpkin ale I’ve ever had. Taste: Toasted nuts up front followed by a ton of sweet pumpkin spices in the middle before ending with light hops at the finish. Aftertaste of pumpkin spices. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with zero carbonation. Pour was also a little warmer than I would have preferred. Drinkability: Good drinkability. Goes down smooth. Overall: Good beer overall. I would put this on par with the original Guava Grove. Definitely worth trying if you get a chance.

Poured a cloudy amber orange color, aroma of all spice, earth, and a hint of coco. Interesting taste, had the good gord flavor up for front with some tart coco, and a distinct weird aftertaste.

Pours a cloudy amber. Nose is strange medicinal notes, sweet malts, cocoa and spices. Flavor is odd plastic. Maybe the seeds? Has a weird tartness to it as well.
