Growler. Dark brown color with a thin off-white head on top. Not much sticks around for lacing. The aroma is fairly nice with caramel, toasted almond, and some light chocolate. Pretty much the same thing going on with the flavors; toasty caramel malt mixes with some lighter chocolate notes and perhaps a little mixed dried fruit. I don’t really get almond here. This is very drinkable; carbonation is relatively high and spritzy. This is a pretty solid brew, although I admit to be rather unexcited with it. In some ways it seems like a slightly watered down version of Maduro.

Slightly hazy brown color. Aroma is light, has some roasted malt, a hint of bitterness and peanuts. Flavor is slightly bitter, toast, malts and a hint of dark fruit like fig and plum. Slightly odd finish but still tasty.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 GT2 (3961) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 18, 2012
Cask at CCB. Big reverse cascade creamy off white head. Clear deep amber. Rich poofy cask/nitro lace. Nose is muted. Small berries and fresh strawberry juice. Tase is quite rich and heavy nuts. Fatty and roasty. Creamy, light palate. Aerated. Not bad. Good job at an English style. Mild saltwater through the finish.

Pours a very clear medium amber with a small white head that laces a good amount. Aroma of roast, caramel malts, and some spruce and pine. Flavor is bitter throughout with bits of roasty dryness and touches of toffee. Not too shabby.

On tap at RnH and Capones. Pour is a dark brown, beige head. Not much lacing. Aromas of chocolate, tofee, roasted nuts. Taste was a bit more fruity and roasty, with bitter finish. Light bodied. Not my favorite.

Not a very exciting brew. It has some subtle oregat like qualities in the nose, but its actual taste and finish I find to be thin. Understandably it is a mild ale, but its mildness didn’t leave too much to remember it by.
