Had this at the Campground Brewdown “thanks” to Max. Pours a hazy amber color. Smells like spicy corn. The cumin is huge which I initially think isn’t bad as I love cumin. My mouth waters, and then my stomach clenches, very disconcerting. Weird barrel notes. Induces spitting immediately. Gross, almost puked drinking this. Why would someone do this? Horrible and difficult.

Pours a murky/cloudy golden amber with one to two fingers of creamy sandstone tan head. Very rich and intense nose, creamy and sweet notes dominate. Light peppery cumin character and citrus zest. Flavor is very interesting, surprisingly well integrated and balanced. Cumin and lime play well together and add just a touch of spice and acidity. Some heat shows on the finish.

Bottle @ Fanø Slumber Party, 2012. Pours cloudy orange with a small white head. Spicy and herbal. Orange, yeast, herbs and caramel. Smooth.

Bottle from markwise, shared at RBSG 2012 Grand Tasting. Unclear dark gold color with a whitish head. Cumin, lime and tequila all jump out in a very heavy-handed way. Tastes like curry basically. I can’t detect any aspect of the base beer.

Fanø Summer Slumber Party - 2012. Cloudy golden with a lasting white head. Fruity aroma with pineapple notes in particular, along with cumin and a touch of wood. Horribly sweet flavour with lots of alcohol, and notes of wood, cumin and pepper.

The pour is a cloudy orange color with a tall eggshell head. Smells mostly like lime, very mild spices, and very little, almost no tequila. A moderate malt aroma and sweetness. Tastes primarily like cumin. There’s a nice bit of lime and wood. A hint of tequila on the finish, maybe a touch of vanilla as well.

Bottle @ Fanø Slumber Party, 2012.
Pours hazy orange with a small, frothy, off-white head. Aroma has mild maltiness, herbal, light chili notes and pepper. Medium to high carbonation, rather fine dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has caramel, light pepper, quite vinious. And then on top all of this herbal sharpness from the tequila barrel. Why oh why?

Bottle from Veldrid - thanks! Pours a light, hazy caramel and orange color with a large white head. Aroma is as advertised with cumin, light lime (perhaps faded as of this date), and soft oak with remnants of tequila. Taste is dominated by the cumin and tequila and it’s hard to pick up on the lime or the base beer. The flavors are fairly balanced and work for the most part. Slight bit of alcohol and malt sweetness on the finish with a smooth, coating mouthfeel. Nice beer; not something I’d go out of my way to try again but I liked it.

17-JUN-2012, bottle @home, from "Ølbutikken". Hazy orange with high lasting off-white head. Heavy lime peel aroma with a very different spice. Taste much the same. Tequila is there. A good one:-) Alcoholic. Very creamy. High carbonation. Long aftertaate. Not all that bitter. More like a Belgian strong ale than an American. Very good and different drink.
