Pours a hazy golden amber with slight orange edges and a one finger off white head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Minimal spots of lacing left behind. The aroma of this beer is pretty intense. It smells more like a spicy margarita than a beer. Lots of earthy spice along with sweet citrus and a strong tequila presence. Not picking up a lot of barrel/oak but a very prominent tequila character. There’s also some subtle caramel malt and bready yeast. Flavor is similar to aroma but tastes more like a beer than it smells. There’s still a margarita feel with hints of lime, salt, spice and a heavy tequila presence but the malt and yeast notes are more prevalent. Also, there’s a bit more of a barrel presence with dry oak and subtle vanilla. Slightly bready with caramel malt but the salt, citrus, cumin and tequila overpower the other flavors. I’ve only had one other tequila BA beer before(Zapata Bot) which I really enjoyed but this one is a bit heavy handed for my liking. An interesting experiment that I’m glad to have tried but I wouldn’t order it again.

Capped 750 from ericandersnavy. Pours hazy dark orange with a transient beige head. Aroma is very tequila and cumin does seem present. Med body. It’s a bit sweet - lime & tequila & oak flavors control that. Well blended flavors. Quite different and very good.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours amber with a sour alcohol aroma and a thin off-white head. There is a very strange and complex flavor that includes lots of cumin, lime and tequila. A really unique beer.

Bottle at CBC, May 2012. It pours hazy amber, with a thin white head. The nose is almond, American cream soda, sweet, French pastries and spice. The taste is American cream soda, almond, marzipan, agave, tequila, spice and dryness, with alcohol warmth in the finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. An interesting brew.

This beer smells insane. Kind of funky wood and body odor mixed with salsa. Shits is crazy. I can taste the tequila and lime in there. Does not taste like it smells, at least to me. Really smooth and somewhat sweet/tangy. This beer was a hit with the people I shared it with. Thanks for the bottle Adam!

Bottle 750ml.

Clear medium yellow - amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, spicy something i did not find without reading decription .. so it was cumin and lime peel. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, anis seed, cumin, lime notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. IMO the spices and tequila works good together, quit complex and very delicious.[20120512]
