4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml bottle, shared by jcwattsrugger. I have to agree with John. The best beer of an afternoon of drinking on my patio. Pours a hazy orange gold with a finger of off white head. There’s a lot going on here. Aroma is rife with wood notes, lime, citrus and a good whiff of alcohol. Tequila is more obvious in the flavor. As the beer warmed a bit, you would have thought you were drinking a Margarita w/lime. I don’t know what cumin is, but I’m sure it’s in there. Palate was fairly modest with a bit of bitterness. Very nice, very nice indeed.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Shared at a tasting hosted by Steebo on February 13. This beauty poured from a growler. The pour is a darker ruby or copper color with a soft lighter khaki colored head. The aroma is really interesting. There is a good bit of tequila here, mixed with taco meat and straight up cumin. Not really picking up on any lime. The flavor has a good spiciness to it, from the cumin, and it’s got a strangely nutty flavor. There is a light oaky tequila on the back end, and just a hint of the lime citrus there. The mouthfeel is really creamy and softly carbonated. The cumin just presents a lingeringly spicy aftertaste that goes on for days. This is a weird, creamy beer.
