Brown Ale with Spices

Artist and renaissance man, Evander Preston, carves out a unique presence in a world of sameness. Evander’s friends at Cigar City Brewing have brewed an exotic concoction based on his eccentric personality and style. The brew was a blend of flavors from far away lands. We know you will enjoy drinking our beer as much as we enjoyed brewing it. Evander’s studio and workshop is located at Pass-A-Grille, Florida.

Thanks Ian! Clear brown with a bubbly tan head. Christmas spiced aroma, light roasted malts and hint and vanilla. Flavor is very light and similar with hints of coffee and vanilla. This is left over sugar plum. Meh, it's alright.

Bottle at share. Medium dark pour. Serious nose of spices...nose of cinnamon and nutmeg. Holiday aromas. Taste is carbonated with malts, spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, light bitter hops on the finish. Ends dry.

Deep amber. Nose is heavy spice and sweet malt. Flavor is all sort of spices, spice cabinet basically mixed with sweet malts and hints of toast.

Bottle shared by Bacterial! Pretty below average, tons of spices and that dominates the beer. Glad I shared it with others!

Bottle shared by jcwatts, thanks John. Poured dark reddish chestnut brown body with almost no head. Aroma of chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, old honey, vanilla and some alcohol. Body is soft with almost no carbonation left. Flavor is the same as the aroma with chocolate up front followed by a combination of spices. Not bad but not great.

Kind of a mess. Ok to try, but not something you want to consume a bunch of. Spicy nose, malty and spicy taste, thin finish.

Light brown/dark amber pour with a khaki head. Big spice aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove. Sweet fruit esters, a nice toasted malt nose, and chocolate. The flavor has a touch of butter to it, unfortunately. Otherwise it’s alright. Spicy notes of nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon. Some sweet dark fruit, chocolate, toast, and toffee.

translucent brown, thin cream head, lacing. nose is cinnamon and diacetyl. Flavor less diacetyl, more cinnamon and sugar, thin, hot, vegetable mess emerges in the end. Then I was told it Cigar City. Shocked.

750ml bottle pours a clear, dark brown with some clumpy, off white head. Big spiced nose, ginger, nutmeg, clove, some malt. Flavor is overly sweet and too spiced, clove, ginger, almost artificial tasting. Full, sickly finish.

750mL thanks to nmann08. Pours a clear, deep ruby looking black in the glass. Decent foam. Nose is very rancid diacetyl, one of the worst I’ve encountered. Spoiled dairy abounds while some pumpernickel bread and pumpkin spice try to come through as the intended. In taste there is brown sugar, whole grain crust, typical CCB lemon acid, pumpernickel. Palate is slick, rancid old dairy. An extreme case of diacetyl.
