Forgotten Island is aged in Appleton rum barrels, originating from Jamaica. This distillery makes the oldest barrel-aged rum in the world. The barrel lends notes of vanilla, molasses, orange peel, cocoa, brown sugar, nutmeg, hazelnut, apricot and peach. This plethora of flavors and aromas from the rum barrels intermingles with banana, clove, cinnamon, fig, plum and brown sugar aromatics and flavors from the quadrupel, creating a crescendo of elegance in a long flavorful finale.

Really sweet and rummy, kinda like drinking a rum, you can tell its a quad from some of the estery flavors but it’s not really my thing.

750. Bottle to snifter (shared by dudeabide). Looks good; a murky dark brown with light caramel head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; pitted fruit, Belgian yeast, oak, and light rum (that appears darker as the beer warms and opens up). Tastes like it smells, but with much more of a smooth dark rum presence. Nice and smooth on the palate. 15%?!? DANGEROUS.

Thanks to xmarcnolanx for sharing this one. Pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has dark roast, abbey yeast, soy, figs, plum and other dark fruits. It has a medium / full body with mild sharp carbonation. The flavor begins with heavy toast, toffee, caramel, abbey yeast and candi sugar. the finish has a lot of brown sugar, booze and some barrel notes. Nice quad.

Bottle @ home, thanks to Homer321. Thanks ! Pours a bit hazy reddish brown appearance with a thin tan head. The rum is noticeable in the nose. Lots of molasses, banana, toffee, plums, and figs. Very high sweetness and pretty high booze. Red apple, banana, cinnamon, vanilla, banana cream pie flavor. Kind of goopy and spicy. Sipper and fun in small doses but would be incredibly hard to drink a whole bottle. Kind of fun.

Bottle thanks to Hopscotch and ’Cuse beating WV in NCAA football: Poured a mahogany brown with reddish edges, some floaties drifted through, thin beige head. Aroma is strong huge rum, vanilla, sweet sugars and fruit. Taste is a blast of dark fruit, stick sugars, vanilla and alcohol light burn. Finish was dry and wine like.

25.4 oz bottle. Deep brown with light froth. Nose is fig, rum, caramel, raisin and butterscotch. The first sip slams you with an overdose of sugar, sharp alcohol and biting carb; i love it. A monk with balls. Taste is dates, cane sugar, candied orange peel, wood and rum. Needs some age. Too raw now but shows great potential.

Had in a share thanks to the Rev and Prazak. I absolutely love this style of beer. Vanilla, graham cracker, rum, ridiculous. Goes down fast. Would shotgun a whole thing of this and will shotgun a whole thing of this.
