16 oz fliptop courtesy of fishingnet. Thanks, Ben! Pours a murky brownish amber hue, dulled and murky with a frothy offwhite head that dies to a ring, laces small. Aromas are smacking you in the face with Pumkin and pie spices, caramel and toffee, cream, cinnamon, brown sugar, nutmeg. Touches of oak and sweet rum are gentle, mellow sweetness from the spirit, sugar and vanilla. Initial is medium bodied, offering a healthy spice and pie essence. Caramel and toffee, brown sugar, lots of vanilla, pumpkins, graham crackers, and mellow cinnamon and nutmeg. Into the middle and backend, touches of oak and warming yet sweet rum, brown sugar, vanilla. Gentle spice and mellow sweetness, heat is near non-existent, giving just a kiss on the way backend. Not too sweet, the barrel seems to solve that a bit with healthy spice, vanilla, and caramel. Brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Finish leaves pie spice, gentle sweetness. Really well done, the rum barrel provides synergy of flavors and brings this beer into focus. Really nice. Perhaps lacking a bit in body, not the prettiest beer.. But aroma and taste are great. Thanks again, Ben!

16oz fliptop brought to us by adam. Thank a bunch... Pours a semi-hazy deeper than orange caramel toffee brown hue and topped with skimpy thin film of white head. A little dead but alright... Aroma is big pumpkin pie essence, with nutmeg and softer spice underneath. The rum isn’t too distinguishing but meshes well with the spice qualities... Flavors don’t stray too much from the aroma: notes of pumpkin, nutmeg, dark fruits, alongside other contributing spices without being too overwhelming. Mostly sweet that goes well with the base beer adding a desert like quality. Body is a touch flimsy and lacking a touch in carbonation. The rum barrel added a nice sweetness that meshes well with the pumpkin base.

Ok. Avery’s Rumpkin was solidly perched atop the bevy of pumpkin beers as the undisputed champ. Then along came this beer. On draft at CCB. Pours amber-orange with a white head. Nose is somewhat boozy with the rum coming through large followed by a hint of pumpkin and a bit of pumpkin pie spices- cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg. Flavor is rum-infused pumpkin pie, and who hasn’t often thought that rum is what was missing from Thanksgiving cuisine? Here is the answer. Palate and finish are both generally boozy, but it worked for me. Another gem from CCB.
Pours a clear amber. Nose is boozey, good amount of rum and pumpkin pie spices. Flavor is warming alcohol but not over powering. Allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon and sweet malts. Well done beer!
