Bottle shared at the RBESG 2014, grand tasting 10/08/2014 Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell. Aroma is composed of cola, sweet raisin, rum barrel and cinnamon spices. Red coloured pour with a lasting off white head. Flavour is composed of cola, berry, caramel and honey malts, cinnamon and liquorice. Spices are balanced and nicely integrated but slightly heavy handed. Palate is sticky sweet, smooth for the above and moderate carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle huge thanks to Colin ’Theydon Bois’ (cheers Colin) consumed at cottage in Faraway, Devon, Friday 21st November 2014. Pours dark murky brown, huge rum, lots of rum but alcohol softened somewhat by pumpkin. Bit boozy but not harsh, a little sweet perhaps. Lots of spice, but tastes good. A7 A3 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Drinks like a barleywine, with a somewhat thin body and obviously high ABV.
Overly sweet but otherwise good balance and good, if strong, use of rum barrel aging. Subtle pumpkin.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle... Pours cloudy and caramel with a small, creamy, off-white head. The rich nose is loaded with winter spices and a lovely vanilla component. Full-bodied and oily with tingly carbonation. The decadent flavor is spicy and chock-full-of rum, vanilla and pumpkin. Finishes sweet with heaps of rum, but it’s neither cloying nor excessively boozy or alcoholic.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, sent by Matt, I believe. Thanks!
A: Murky brown with a foamy off-white head.
N: Pumpkin, rum, nutmeg, oak, brown sugar, cinnamon, all-spice, red licorice, taffy, hint of melted caramel and then a follow up of big marshmallow.
T: Big caramelly sweetness and licorice type bitterness. Feels almost soft at times.
M: Medium body, very slick, and easy drinkin. Some resins, no alcohol.
O: Hug pumpkin beer where the rum doesn’t overshadow the base beer but complements it. Recommended.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Received from a trade -- 22oz bottle poured into a tulip. It puts a muddy brown with very little head. The aroma is pumpkin spice cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, followed by heavy rum booze, but in a complimentary role. Flavor starts with rum, fermented sugars not alcohol, gives way to vanilla, pumpkin and malty caramel. Finishes with a caramel wood flavor. Overall to compare the only other Rum barrel aged pumpkin I?ve had this is better than Saint Arnolds Bishops Barrel 6.
