Sample @ Brewvival 2014. Hazy amber pour with a small head. Big runny butterscotch and caramel. Christmas spices and pumpkin cake. Ginger, cinnamon, cardamom. Yam and toffee smoothie flavor. Spiced yule log. Dark raisins. Burnt bananas fosters. Medium body, supple. Quite sweet, but very tasty in a festival environment with small pours.

Bottle, shared at RBAG 2014 by Ferris. Tawny amber, low golden head. Spiced rum is very prominent here, pumpkin undertones, also nutmeg, marzipan, brown sugar. Intriguing, but a bit sweet on rum for my taste.

Bottle to goblet at RBAG14 Been waiting on this for a while...so excited. Aroma of pumpkin, candied sugar, mace, cinnamon, dark rum, caramel, and vanilla. Cloudy light amber, thin creamy off white head. Sweet, brown sugar, caramel, gourd of some type. Tasty, but a touch too sweet.

Bottle - Smells like liquor, spiced rum and spice. Cloudy caramel with no head. Starchy gourds, spices and rum. If you wanted a mulled beer, this would be the one to do it with. Lots of rum, spice and gourdy goodness.

Bottle share at RBAG. Orange pour, with light white foam. Aroma is rum dipped pumpkin pie, clove and cinnamon. Taste is clove and spices up front with lots of sweetness followed with some rum and a bitter finish, with heat and spice. Hmmm this is an interesting beer I would only want a small sample though kind of like pumpkin icing.

Bottle poured into a glencairn taster. Pours dark brown with a khaki head of foam. The aroma is all rum and spice. Big booze. Thicker mouthfeel with moderate carbonation.

On tap at Hunahpus Day 2014 poured into commemorative taster. Brown and hazy with a hint of orange in body with a few bubbles of tan foam floating around the top. Aroma is loaded with pie spices: nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove plus vanilla and rum. Taste is like a blended pumpkin pie spiked with rum - moderately sweet with some woody bitterness from the spices. Medium-full body, thick texture, soft carbonation, boozy finish.

Bottle share at Tribes Alehouse. Pour is cloudy orange/brown with a medium off-white head. Aroma and flavor of sourdough, pumpkin, wood, cinnamon, rum, and a bit of vanilla. The rum helps to blanace out the pumpkin pie spice. Better than I expected.

750 ml into a tulip. Thanks Tom! Pours a murky dark red with some light khaki edging. Nose is rum soaked pumpkin spice creme cake. Gobs of spice, vanilla, oak, squash, earthy grass, and cinnamon/nutmeg. Sooo festive and inviting. Taste is sweet and spicy rum barrel with notes of oak and vanilla on top of squash and cooking spices. Very tasty. A little too carbonated in the mouth feel. Overall its one of the best pumpkin beers Ive had. The rum barrel is very present but not overwhelming and the pumpkin/spice is spot on. Very impressive.
