COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Giant cell phones. White pantsuits. Reagonomics. The 80′s was all about excess. We tip our neon trilby hats to mentality with this beer. Not satisfied with the amount of guava in our Guava Grove saison, we doubled the amount of fruit in Guava Grove to create a truly radical beer fit for any dude or dudette. Totally tubular!

Orangish, pours with nothing but head. Aroma is tart and fruity with some funk. Flavor is a bit bland, some guava and a bit of yeasty funk in the finish. Decent beer.

Tap at brewery location jan 2014 Pours hazy dark orange with a small fizzy white head with no lacing. Nose is very sour lots of wood notes and almost a zesty citrus tone to it. There is cedar there at least I think. Flavors are big tart notes up front with a nice woody dryness mid palate. Very nice dry finish witb lingering cedar and fruity notes. Very nice brew but more of a sour than a saison.

This one poured a hazy light orange color with a white head. Aroma was of sweet guava, oxidation and candi sugar. Flavor was lacking any rustic qualities, sweet guava and caramle and oxidation. Just weird.

Bottled 19AUG11 An apricot ale with three fingers of nice white foam and diaphanous translucency. The nose here is a pleasant balance of saison character with soil, hay and wheaty tones along side a good, hearty pungent guava character. Some degree of mustiness. Taste is of guavas and saison (rustic) with some nice full notes of tangerine and tartness. I dig. This beer is fully bodied with a strong carb up front, which dissipates over a good twenty minutes leaving a nearly still beer; this allows for a good spectral experience of the beer’s flavors. A good beer, worth seeking for the Saison lover, and worth trying for the beer lover. Well crafted and quite flavorful. Serving type: bottle 01-03-2012

Pretty much a CCB sour, non-hellyeast edition, with a nice grainy quality and some guava flavor, though not a ton. Thanks Diego!

Pours a hazy orange/gold with almost no head at all. Almost looked like apple cider sitting in the glass. Smell is loaded with guava, pepper, and some barnyard funk. For me the barnyard funk of the yeast completely overpowered the guava. It was still there, but not nearly as strong a presence as I was expecting. Finishes slightly sour and tangy. Mouthfeel/carbonation are normal for the style. Admittedly saison is my least favorite style by far, but I thought the guava may rescue this one. Just not enough guava to push me to like it. Not awful, but I doubt I’ll ever seek it out again.

Super carbonated; more saisony than sour. Carb comes at the expense of fruit intensity. Disappointing after the glory of the regular (soured) Guava Grove.

Had this on tap in the tasting room and it was very tart but much more consistent in flavor than the bottled versions over previous years. Overall a great sour.
