4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 teorn88 (740) - Rimini, ITALY - FEB 16, 2012
75cl bottle. It’s a little gusher this one, but only mildly. Pours a slighly hazy orange color with a big white head. Foam is tight but dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is sweet-ish and floral. Lots of flowers and fuits. Grapefruit, citrus and violets. Definite Belgian yeasts presence, a bit spicy. Taste is quite similar, with a touch of acidity in addition. On the sweet side, but not too much by any mean, floral and fruity. Lots of grapefruit and violets. Some citrus flavors and yeasty pepper. A touch of acidity cuts through the fruity sweetness. Medium body, good carbonation and no alcohol whatsoever. Overall, very interesting and very refreshing. Easy to drink and tasty. A bit more acidity would have helped in my opinion, but I’m kind of a sour-head, so maybe it’s perfect as it is.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Palme (1437) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 16, 2012
0.75l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This one pours a light blurry golden copper body with a nice big and lasting just off-white head. Leafy, light sweetish and fruity-like aroma with hints of yeast, cacti and tropical melon. Average carbonated with a smooth texture in the mouth. I like the flavors; they are light fruity with tones of citrus, some acidic twitches towards the finish mixed with leafs and hints of yeast. Yeah, quite different and actually quite good. Don’t beleive I’ve tasted guava before, but this flavor can remind me a bit of papaya. 30.01.2012

Blond with a very slight haze. Yeasty, lightly guava-accented aroma and the palate is similar. Spicy, yeasty notes. Complex beer - fun, spicy and dry, with a gentle fruit accent. Good stuff.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ClubGonzo (1978) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 6, 2012
Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Pours a hazy orange body with a big creamy white head. Aroma is peppery yeast tones, alcohol, fruit (guava? can’t really tell, as I can’t recall the taste), papaya and hints of pineapple. Taste is the unknown fruitiness I can only assume is guava (this is the second time Cigar City reveals a for me hitherto unknown flavor in a beer; last time was cedar wood), papaya (or do I mistake that flavor for guava?), citric tones and hints of grassy hops. Original and quite nice, but a real nut to crack when it comes to rating. :-P

UPDATED: APR 3, 2012 From the 2/2012 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy orange-amber color with a large foamy yellow-white head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet and yeasty with pepper and a bit of guava. The flavor was tangy and sweet with moderate tropical fruits, sugar and bread. The finish was long and tangy with lingering tropical fruits. Moderately full bodied. Solid.

Finish is sweet and fruity with farmyard hints.
