COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Guava Grove Ale is a Belgian ale that sees a secondary fermentation with and extended aging on Guava puree. The complex flavors imparted by both the Belgian yeast strain and the Guava are unlike anything you are likely to have encountered. This is an elegant beer that pairs well with white fish, mussels, fresh tropical fruits and earthy cheeses. It also makes a fine accompaniment to Guavaween festivities.

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2009 Big thanks to TampaBrews. Aroma of farmhouse yeast funk, carbonation, gumball, and citrus, all very well harmonized. Amazing, really. Hazy orange pour, effervescent. Initially large off-white head simmers down to an everlasting film of bubbles, temporary spots of lace. Flavor is noticeably tart, then dry, turning lightly sweet in the finish. Gumball yeasty funk forms the main base of the flavor’s complexity, fruity elements, citrus and something grapey that must be guava, abound on the front, finsihing up sweeter, floral, and lightly chalky. Very lively palate, medium body, dry but only slightly astringent. Will stop gushing now and finish my glass.

1 pint 9.4 fl. Oz. Bottle thanx to Dchmela and his super sixpack shipper. Nice cloudy amber pour with a great foamy head. For a Belgian Ale it is pretty sour. Lemon zest fruity barley. Lovein it!

750mL bottle into an abbey glass. The pour is deep cloudy orange with a two-finger thick creamy off-white head that reminds of merangue. The aroma is of Belgian blonde ale in a way, but with more pronounced tartness and lemon pie. The flavor is immediately sour and sweet like nice lemon pie/cake on top of tropical fruits, bread, yeast, and a hint of metal. The carbonation is quite high, but that’s to be expected.

On tap at House of Beer...pours hazy, light brown with an orange tint. Generous off-white head that provides some streaky lacing...Nose of sour citrus, funky yeast, peaches, and apricots. The flavors are well balanced mix of sour fruits, cellar funk, and sweet malts. Very dry, moderate carbonation, and a puckering, tart finish. Very nice brew...

Bottle. Poured cloudy brownish orange with a a creamy head. Aroma is tart citrus and spice, a little like some of the LA sours. Taste is acetic with citrus, light funk, spice, yeast. Finish is tart. Overall, a nice brew that’s kind of a mix between a sour, saison, & fruit. Pretty nice.

Pours out murky gold with lots of foam. Taste is fruity and spicey. Lots of citrus fruits and guava. Nice spice with just a little funk. Smooth and refreshing. Good stuff.

25.4 oz bottle. Murky orange with some creamy white haze. Nose is yeast with hints of guava and vinegar. Medium light with a mild sparkle. Taste is guava, lemon-lime and dough. Tart and refreshing finish. I didn’t get as much guava as in the cedar IPA as it seemed to get canceled out by the sour citrus flavors.

The aroma is yeasty, malty, and fruity (guava). The appearance is Hazy gold-copper with a large head. The flavor is like the aroma with an odd but interesting finish that reminds me of wood. The palate is average for the style. Overall it’s interesting and I would drink again.
