COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Guava Grove is a farmhouse ale that sees a secondary fermentation on one of Tampa’s favored fruits, guava. Pairs well with fresh fish, mussels, fresh tropical fruits, and earthy cheeses.

750 ml at lithy’s Septemberfest. Opaque orange-peach with a lasting creamy disc of foam. Nose of cheese, funk, white wine and muscadine. Flavor is pretty much the same, with more fruitiness and some pepper. Light body is dry and fizzy.

Bottle thanks to Rciesla for sharing. Golden orange pour with a white head. Guava flavor(not easy to pull off) and a touch of citrus, spices and light wheat.

Bottle. Pours an orange golden body with a white head. Nice fruity guava and some light citrus with a muskier, drier spiciness. Sweet with a light tartness and a light drying finish. Good one.

bottle courtesy of dak, thanks man! pours a fuzzy peach that gets denser and more opaque towards the bottom. smell is of funky rotten fermenting fruit, lots of peaches and apricots. taste is a nice fuzzy funky sweet peach with a good brett kick on it. nice carbonation and finish. the guava is barely present in the nose for me personally, but it comes through nicely in the flavor and a lot in the aftertaste as well. another great and unique offering from ccb!

Bottle shared by Ethan. Thanks. Pours a very hazy orange. Nose shows lots of funk We were told by Wayne (who ryan called while we were drinking it) it is not brett. Sure smells like it. There’s also a nice guava and leathery notes in the aroma. Nice funky flavor, with the fruit playing a bigger role than in the aroma, some pepper, and earthy hops are also present. Enjoyed this one.

Light cloudy cider colored with generous white foam. Sour, yeast driven aroma. Nicely tart. Fruity taste with clean profile.

750ml marked as 8%.appearance is sandy gold with cotton candy head. nose is of yeast and light barnyard that arises besides a mysterious sweetness i know to be the guava but otherwise would not be able to pinpoint. flavor is tart funk, excruciatingly dry. high carb and guave sweetness unfortunately begin to combine into something resembling soda pop. in CCBs refusal to attempt a style head on, they have buried the fundamentals (which are here in droves, the bones of this beer are worldclass!). still unbelievable this is 8%!

Bottle at lithy’s Septemberfest. Pours cloudy gold with soapy head. The aroma is grass and lemon with a strong fruity note and a bit of spice. The flavor is tropical fruit and herbal hops. The finish is nice, dry, and fruity. I gotta admit, I wasn’t expecting much from this beer. But it turned out to be very tasty.

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2009 750mL bottle from darkguardian, thanks! Pours a hazy medium orange with a two finger beige head. Nose is definitely fruity, though not as sweet as I had expected. There?s a fair amount of lemon sourness and lightly leathery brett with some melon/tropical fruit notes--I imagine this is the guava. There is also a bit of yeast and pepper. Flavor had some nice sourness that I was expecting from the aroma. Not much sweetness to be had, but the fruit does linger for a bit in the finish, which was semi-dry, low bitterness that turned a little earthy. Moderate prickly carbonation with a light to medium body. This was tasty and unexpected. Update--it took me a while to figure it out, but the aroma is almost dead-on to Russian River’s Sanctification (before they redid the recipe in April/May ’09), with the exception of the tropical melon thing, which isn’t dominant anyway. Strange that this beer has no brett, yet Sanctfication was 100% brett. . .

UPDATED: SEP 5, 2010 Cloudy golden pour with off white head. Aroma of funk, lemon zest, sour apple, some floral notes, oh and some guava. Similar taste, some mango noticeable, dry finish. Nice combination of sweet and dry.
